Looking at the FSM for my 1970 Dart the only two single wires that go through a grommet is: Tach wire. Gray with a tracer Manual transmission clutch start switch. Dark Green

I'll bet that it's for the clutch safety switch as it's heading for the starter relay??

One of the easy give aways is the badge on the trunk lid. Only 340 Swingers came with the Dart and Swinger badges on the trunk lid - all others had a 2 post Dodge script that looks like the one on the hood but with different posts.

Interesting discussion so lets continue. It's true that National made the seals for Chrysler. The 904's from 1960 till 1965 had no dust boot. Let's start with what was available from the Chrysler dealer. If you purchased seal number 2400163 from the dealer from 66 thru 72, it came with a boot...

I know in 67 the tach wire was in the harness and went through the bulkhead, I believe in 68 they changed that, don't know where they put it. Alan

Yup, the yellow arrow. I've seen 2 firewalls with the hole in the exact same place and 2 with just the dimples. Just wondering what goes in the hole.

67 from the inside... Red = E brake hole Yellow = no dimple or hole. I also have a 68 firewall. No hole no dimple So it looks like it's a 70 up difference

I think I'm in agreement. That sheet metal shouldn't be the "go no go" measurement. I would just stick that rod on the vise with that bend "up" and give it a few smacks with a hammer.

Did some sleuthing.... Red is E Brake cable (not speedo cable) Yellow is your hole Green is the speedo cable Google claimed this is a 71 duster. Red is E Brake cable Yellow is a simple Green is the hole for the speedo cable.
