The valve covers are sold but the remainder of the 67 Commando remains including intake manifold, Carter AFB, all linkages and brackerts, air cleaner. Only one person was interested in the engine / trans package so now I'm starting to break it up.

It's oil. Look at the oil in #7, notice a portion of it looks dark like #5 and a portion of it looks like #1.

If what your seeing is the outermost portion of the bore (bottom of photo) that is oil. Notice 5 & 7 have a lot of oil also. If that's not what your seeing let me know.

A very rusted portion of the exhaust valve. That is exactly as it was when the head was removed but the are no marks on the piston. Very strange but I have no idea how the engine came to be in that condition.

I use brass bars on the high side and wood on the low side. Brass is hard enough to move the steel and less likely to create a crease or tear. When that method isn't making any more progress hammer and dolly to finish the job assuming the is enough room to swong the hammer.
