what do the subframes look like? whats the condition of the quarter panels, hood, fenders, door panels, dash (is it cracked?), inner wheel wells? How much would you take for the car stripped down to it's bare bones? Is there any rust anywhere?

    Rear brake size

Thanks to all the replies and advice. Darter6, that makes more sense now. I've heard some people say that these rear brakes are a really good set up on an A body. Got my shoes and a wheel cylinder. Couldn't get the brake line that goes in the wheel cylinder off. Does anyone know what size...

    Rear brake size

So I went to NAPA and ordered some shoes. Part number TS TS334. They're 11" x 2" and they fit dodge monaco, polara, some d100s and w100s, and plymouth fury's. The guy counted the holes on my shoes and the picture and the hole at the top is a circle not a triangle too. And it comes with the pin...

    Rear brake size

I couldn't find a number on the drum. I measured the inside of it though, and it was 11". I don't know what rear end I have but it's got 10 bolts if that makes a difference. I'm pretty sure it's small bolt pattern (4.5" x 5 sound right?).

    Rear brake size

I ordered these from summit: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/axt-axs445/overview/year/1974/make/dodge/model/dart they are 10 x 2.5 in shoes for the rear of my 74 swinger. But when I took everything off of one side I compared the new shoes to the old and they don't match up. The old shoes...

Taking on water in the interior

I have a 74 swinger, just finished welding new floors in. I seam sealed the welds and the next day it rained hard. When I got home and opened the door, there was standing milky fluid where the low spots of the floor are. Water got in and washed some of the sealer out before it could cure. I...

    Holley secondaries won't open

Thank you to all the replies. I've worked on a lot of carburetors but never on a car so when I'm looking over everything, and don't see the secondaries moving, I thought something was broken. nm9stheham, you hit the nail on the head. That's exactly what I was looking for. I needed to know how...

    Holley secondaries won't open

I haven't rebuilt the pod. The same guy that said bend the con. rod told me I shouldn't open the diaphragm when I was cleaning it. I've put the carb underload while it was running and they didn't move. Is there anyway to tell what's wrong without driving it? I've heard about the paperclip trick...

    Holley secondaries won't open

I've got a holley 4 bbl 750cfm (pretty sure it's a 4160), electric choke, vacuum secondaries. It's on a 318 with a 2 bbl intake and a 4 bbl adapter. I replaced the choke and cleaned the carb a couple weeks ago. I had to replace the secondary connecting rod because a buddy said the reason the...

    Wiper Linkage

I don't know if this is the right section but I need some help figuring out the wipers on my 74 dart swinger. I'm pretty sure it's a 3 speed (the bezel turns 3 clicks) but there's only one link that goes from the left pivot to the right pivot. So I'm pretty much missing everything else. Does...

    New guy from MD

Hey everybody, my names Dom, just bought my very first car a couple weeks ago. It is a 1974 Dodge Dart Swinger with a 318. I love older cars but I've always loved mopars especially. My plan with the car is to make it a daily driver. Needs a lot of work. I'm finishing up the floors right now...
