    P/S belt squeal

Cogged belts are made in several widths. The idea is it has all the edges of the cogs to grip the pulley. I think they work better. I don't like the cogs on outside, they look odd and don't help anything.

    P/S belt squeal

The fact that the PS is on the water pump pully tells me it not a factory setup. PS belt should be fron crank to PS only. Is the alternator belt on the water pump also? Picture? Are the pullies square with each other and lined up front to back? Nothing cocked sideways? Is there paint in...

Another New Episode of "What's this part !"

#5 trim is not 66-70 B body convert, I have them #2 is seat back side trim. I have that on a 1961 Chrysler 300 bucket seat. I've seen them on other full size seats of the era. The angle on one end is different but the contours and shape are the same on 63's also. Those may be 63 by part...

    Reusing 195k lifters?

Yeah because we have never seen a bad roller cam/lifter photo yet! LOL. Yes rollers are better but at 200K they are past lifespan.

    Reusing 195k lifters?

I fully understand saving money, and better to ask before doing this. Are you seriously thinking on reusing these on a new cam? W T Heck Since it's so clean inside then reusing on the same cam in the same hole could work, anytime you change the cam under them it is going to be dicey if they...

D4B DC mods like the LD340 DC mods?

Not at all. Many differences in the engines, cubic inches, 2bbl pistons, port sizes, etc, etc. And max flow doesn't make useable power for a street car. What gears? What trans? Converter? It's about the combination.

    Help identify these heads

Are they cast iron? Pretty nifty how they move the rocker shaft over and up. Dan Dvorak sold rocker stands for 426 Hemi that did that same move.

    plane crash at Pomona

Airplanes are supposed to be there, they can't land any other way because the airfield is right across the street from the racetrack and the approach is over the Pomona fairgrounds and drag strip. Probably ran out of fuel or the engine quit. At times watching the winternationals or finals on TV...

    plane crash at Pomona

Could have been out of fuel and didn't make the runway, no fuel no fire. Those are all travel trailers so maybe nobody was in there since it is a nice sunny day and the racing was going on.

Decent Deal? Anything stick out that should cause me to not make the trek?

The stereo was likely done by someone other than the painter. The screw hose clamps don't degrade the car or the quality of mechanical work. Just means they were not going for an original resto. Needs to be looked at by someone that knows old cars. You never know who is calling on your car...

    plane crash at Pomona

Man what a disaster with the pits full of racers. Be amazing if nobody is hurt. There is an airport next door and the planes fly low perpendicular over the track to land. They don't start till 11 on Sunday and now they lost an hour and 45 minutes of racing. It will be dark before they are done.

Decent Deal? Anything stick out that should cause me to not make the trek?

Be careful with the driver description So many flippers eventually say "it's just a driver". Then when you get there they revert back to this disclaimer on the POS they are trying to pawn off.

Decent Deal? Anything stick out that should cause me to not make the trek?

How old is the paint job? Very Important to know age. Do you have a friend you can bring along that is knowledgeable on old cars? You are in new york so be on the hunt for rust in the lower body, floors and frame rails. Use weak magnets to find rust and filler, or get a depth gauge. I was...

So Far = So Good at World Finals

Class act those Irving guys! Way to go. They are raising a whole race team also. Look out in the future. John has to race heads up against one of the fastest cars around. No dial in, all horsepower and some brains on a heads up. Hey John, the driver is pretty new, he could make a mistake...

So Far = So Good at World Finals

He beat the champ and has a bye next round, which is on Saturday morning according to schedule. My two cents is don't change on the tree, just stage carefully and let some air out of all 4 tires. Looks like the start of a good weekend at Pomona!

Great job John! You seem to do well at Pomona. Those new world champions need to prove it every round just like any other driver.

    I love Evaporust!

Clean your parts first. Any grease or oil, even the residue will kill the evaporust FAST! Don't pour the used stuff back in with the new stuff, start a separate container.

What do you call the trim on the rear fender?

Belt line trim is on top of the doors and quarters right next to the window glass. You probably can't find it for two reasons. Everyone calls it something different And nobody has any for sale

    Hot restart issues.

12.2 is a problem. Start there. Pun intended. Does the charging system work, 14.5volts?
  25. 4

    Hot restart issues.

First problem is 12.2 volts is bad. Will it charge to 12.5 or higher? Try a fresh battery. Is battery in trunk or underhood? Possible problems: Advanced timing Bad cables Bad starter Not enough ground cable-needs to flow same amps as positive. If batt in trunk you need a large ground cable...

    Transmission oil

So do you believe the guy who built it or random threads online? I believe the vendors thet service and sell Crysler 833 4 speeds might be a reliable info source here. Brewers says GL4 80/90. Not synthetic. I don't believe that the oil vendors that specialize in modern vehicles can...

    Need help identifying my A833

From a 1966 to 1968 A body, at least the main case. It could have been built from a pile of parts. Side cover is 1970 and back. Possibly later 68 and definitely 69 would have a VIN pad on the main case. Depends who you ask. 1965 and back would be ball & trunion tail.

    Looking for help, again.

I like the LCA and strut rods first. Then put on the UCA and spindles. That way you are not fighting the spindles while putting on LCA. Yes tie rods last. Yes torque upper and lower bushings when at ride height.
