505 blower motor on the dyno

Getting ready to run a 505 inch blower motor on the dyno. We'll run it first with NA with a carb and then once the engine condition is verified we'll add the blower. Should make around 600 hp NA and then make more than 700 hp with the blower. Engine has a gear drive so it will be noisy. Going...

    Holley Sniper Xflow

Holley has the new 900 cfm Xflow out so we got one to test. Ran it on a 505 inch big block and made right at 700 hp. This is a pump gas engine with Trick Flow 270 heads, a Comp street roller cam and a ported Indy intake.

EFI big block in Hot Rod

An article I did for Hot Rod: Adding Holley’s Universal Coil-Near-Plug Ignition System to a Big-Block Mopar - Hot Rod Network This was a 514 inch big block that made around 900 hp depending on which parts we were testing. This was the final test I ran with that engine. Engine was sold earlier...

    SCAT superlight crank

Just got my new SCAT superlight crank. This is an RB crank with 4.250 stroke and 8 bolt flange. It weighs 64 lbs which is about 5 or 6 lbs lighter than usual. Nice looking crank, I like the extra features on the superlight version.

    Dual conical valve springs

Finished up the dyno testing using the dual conical valve springs on my low deck 470. This engine has the Trick Flow 270 heads and a big solid roller cam. Everything worked great and we made around 750 hp at 7000 rpm. The springs worked just fine with the super aggressive solid roller cam. Here...

    Pushrod oiling video

T&D rocker arms on my low deck 470 with pushrod oiling. The internal oil passage to the heads is plugged in the block so all oil is coming up the pushrods. It really flows a lot of oil, more than I expected.

EFI trigger wheel with stock water pump

I'm gradually getting my price list and website updated for 2018. One of the new products I'll have in 2018 is a trigger wheel and pulley that fits with a stock water pump housing and pulley. My previous EFI trigger wheels were all designed for race engines with Jesel belt drives since that is...

Change to '73 steering for header clearance?

My '72 Duster has small bolt pattern disc brakes on it as well as new Centerlines and tires. But, the old style center link comes out up rather than down. That doesn't work with the TTi headers so I'm thinking of swapping over to the '73 style center link which drops out down. So is it possible...

    470 dyno test article

Here is the latest dyno test article with my pump gas 470. In this article I tested a belt driven oil pump as well as a vacuum pump. Peak power was 775 hp on unleaded pump gas. The Wilson porting helped out a bunch as did the vacuum pump. With this kind of power you should be able to drive to...

    Starting a BB Duster project

I have this '72 Duster that has been sitting in my shop collecting dust for 5 years. I picked it up from a friend of mine who hit some tough times but I just never had much time to work on it. I put it up for sale on Craigslist for $4900 which I thought was a super good price but not a single...

CnP (coil near plug) for big blocks

Just finished up the first set of brackets to hang smart coils above the plugs on a big block. This will allow me to get rid of the big MSD 7AL box as well as the MSD coil and the Jesel distributor. I've heard that the engines run a lot better with CnP, guess I'll find out shortly.

900 hp big block with EFI

Just finished a couple days of dyno testing on this 514 inch big block with sequential EFI. Tuning has never been so easy! We just click the mouse to change the fuel curve or the ignition timing. I'm using the Holley HP system on this engine which allows me to change the fuel by cylinder if I...

900 hp with Indy EZ heads

Had my 514 inch big block on the dyno this week. It has CNC ported EZ heads, a Super Victor with Wilson porting and a 1250 Dominator. We were testing different race fuels. The Q16 made the most power with just a hair over 900 hp. I'll post a couple of pictures and a link to a video.
