Dual Headers for 1964 Plymouth Valiant slant six

Both above I agree to. Built several Slants using 2 into 1 2 1/2 exhaust. This is a 64 Dart. In the photo you can see what I was talking about the front pipe and the steering box.

Dual Headers for 1964 Plymouth Valiant slant six

They may hang down low. Also I have read that the front tube may hit the steering box. If you are good with a welder You can make 'um work.

    Seat Slider Question

Yes you can.BUT make sure that they are made of thick enough steel to support a 300 lbs person. That way it can easily handle anyone in the car.I got some from Summit that are fair and did work but I wasn't real happy with them. I just made the seat stationary as I'm the only one driving.

    Need a Battery charger

I worked for a trucking company in the 80's. We used one for testing trailer lights. Drivers would damage the marker lights hitting tree branches all the time. I have to say sometimes the charger was hooked up for hours as we were interrupted during the job to be pulled off for some other work...

    Need a Battery charger

I agree. They will start Slant 6 engines with ease. Lower compression V8 like a 318 too.As long as they are in a good state of tune. Beats paying $200 for a type 24. Battery prices rise daily.

    7.25 doctor diff

I haven't checked yet with Cass aka Dr.Diff. It is my understanding that his axles "are" for converting the small bolt pattern 4'' to the 4 1/2'' for the 7 1/4'' rears. Next spring I will be getting a 72 Dart and plan to do that too.Car will remain a Slant 6.I am a long way off tho.. Best is to...

What was the year that the A body cars had this feature?

I believe my 63 Valiant had the screw connectors.

    Lock up converter question

I have no correct answer for you. Try looking up Mopar Action Magazine archives on line. I remember several articles about locking converters, how they work and how to disable them.

Big block 4-door rear spring suggestions

I have run SS springs on my street cars without a problem and nothing noticeable. But if looking for new, ESPO or Eaton Detroit Springs are both good companies. I have had Eaton make several sets over the years with increase spring rates along with the + or - value of how high or low you want...

8 3/4 springs on the cheap

I too had a extra set of springs laying in my stash. My Valiant used a extra leaf from that along with the set on the car. Using the second from the main.2 new center bolts and I was good to go. I'm a "Use what ya got " kinda guy.

Mainly the 5.5 wide 14's were standard on 340 A body cars that weren't ordered with rally wheels.

    273 Commando Rebuild Or Not?

    What is this..??

Yeah, early ones before the 2 piece . My 63 Valiant had those.

    273 Commando Rebuild Or Not?

I agree with Mike. Got a unknown 318 for free. Guy said it was from a Dodge Diplomat that was rusty beyond repair. Was sitting in his backyard. Did just what Mike said. Sealed it and did the heads.Ran it in my truck. Used a quart every 250 miles and blue smoke when cold. Drove it daily and it...

    Squeeling poverty hub caps??

Yeah, strange, I thought the lug nuts were not tight. Popped the caps, re-torqued and went for a ride. No noise. Put the caps back on and the noise was back. Just a thought, what disc brakes you using? the 73 up Mopar sliding caliper,if the pads are not tight will squeek. You can bend the ears on...

    Squeeling poverty hub caps??

Yes. Only once. More of a creek sound.Same as you I did the "What the heck?" Factory wheels and caps.Mostly heard at slow speeds. A touch of silicone on the nubs cured it. Never had any others do it.

Are the Cragar SS wheels the best looking option for 1967-70 Darts?

I agree. You like what you like. Cragars like Torque Thrust are time less. Always been a fan of mix match of any aftermarket front and steelies rear. I like old school chrome or aluminum slots on the front. Not seen often anymore. Depending on back space, width, and tire size 18'' will fit. Just...
