    Will one of these work?

I searched and asked a lot of questions prior to starting. There are so many opinions about whether the driver side manifold will fit or not, how to shim they driver side motor mount, cutting a few inches off of the steering tube to clear the manifold. I know the manual steering shaft will work...

    SB EXT. MANIFOLDS QUESTION

The 72-73 340 drivers side manifold is still a good design with a large exhaust port. Still pretty reasonably priced. The passenger side is pretty choked down.

    Crooked engine.. Is this normal??

I had went through a process where we had located a rear, set up the pinion angle and welded the perches in a 69 dart. I can verify that the driveline IS not centered to the vehicle. I seem to recall the driveline is off set to the right. However, it looks like in the OPs pic the engine is...

Hello all! I am new to the forum and looking for some help. I am currently rebuilding my dads 1971 duster for his birthday and will be giving it to him as a surprise. It has been in the garage at my rental house for about 3 years (he still thinks it's there). A little back ground. I took the...

    340 in a 65 Barracuda

340 manifolds will fit, although it's close. I have TTI headers now, but ran 340 manifolds for years (I've owned my 65 since 1968; it's been a 340 since 1973). The late (71-up) passenger side, center-outlet manifold clears well. The early (68-70) hi-po passenger side manifold will barely fit...

I don't remember a separate thread about that clearance issue but I do remember reading about it many times. It is probably buried in a thread.

YES 5.9 Magnum manifolds work in early A bodies. Here is exactly how!

That drivers side manifold in your pics ain't gonna fit when you get the motor down to where it needs to sit. If your 360 is a stock motor, the Early A V8 manifolds will...

65 Barracuda Stock manifold installation fitment

I just re-installed my 318, stock motor mounts and factory power steering box. The problem I'm having is twisting the drivers side manifold down into place. Do I need to raise the engine or disconnect the steering column from the PS pump? I can't find an opening big enough to accept the...

I've done a ton of research- so now I'm really confused....

I've read - as my post said waaaayyyyy too much research - that these heads have small valves - 1.78 /1.50 which is the same as the original heads valve sizes - but have an aggressively small "Fast Burn" chamber that runs around 10cc smaller than the original stock heads - which is my "cheat" to...

70 Dart S6 to 383BB conversion - Cast Iron Manifolds

Guys, My motor build will be mild. Purple cam, mild compression, roller rockers, tunnel ram with holley 400's. Headers that will fit are well over $1000+ additional parts. My engine builder says I can just use stock manifolds with no performance sacrifice. My issue is the manifold set I...

    71 Duster 360 turbo build

The engine was from a circle track car, had a small cam, stock(I was told) pistons, and big valve j heads with a nice valve job. It was already faster than the 440. sorted the electrical, swapped to a denso alternator, and took it to the track. Low 13’s. So I moved forward. Gt45, magnum...

    65 Valiant 273 dual exhaust

    65 Valiant 273 dual exhaust

...mods to make them work. Drivers side is the pain, but I think it's workable in this car. Tight, but workable. That factory drivers side manifold that pinches down around the steering column is pretty bad from what I've heard. Full disclosure, that's what we have in our 65, but I'm seriously...

    Rebuilding a 65 273..I need some help.

This is correct. Check for clearance with the original drivers side manifold. Check the manifold and the exhaust port on the head. Be careful grinding on the exhaust port as there is coolant under it. Not a fan of aluminum rocker arms on a street car, but I know people that run them. I'd...

    Plastic for cooling sucks.

Good grief man. Yeah, doesn’t seem like you understand design or engineering at all. Like, not even a little bit. Some fun tidbits for you -most automatic door locking systems can simply be turned off if you know how. For example, on a ‘99 Durango - 1. close all doors 2. Place the key in...

    Will one of these work?

It’s a 340 with 5.9 magnum manifolds. Was power steering but i switched to a manual steering box in order to fit the drivers side manifold. Still running the power steering column which is shorter. The old power coupler did not work.

    Burned plug wires.

I use something like these on my car. The sleeves essentially rest on the drivers side manifold. I have not had any problems with burning of my plug wires with these installed. You can also kind of see them in this picture. Moroso 71994: High-Temperature Boot Sleeves Black | JEGS

You have to be INSANE to have long-tube headers on a big-block A-body Mopar!

I feel for you. I inherited a set of ceramic coated Hooker long tubes on my 74 Dart. The drivers side are destroyed, steering box knuckle wore right through one tube and the lowest tube is wore right through from rubbing various speed bumps, curbs, etc. I can't tell you how many times I cursed...

    65 dart revival

After we beat the tunnel up behind the body seam for the needed clearance to get the drivers manifold above the power steering fitting we had enough room for mid 70s era spool mounts. Not the prettiest welds and we need to find the proper Motor mounts washers...but both sides are done and it was...
