    SBM Edelbrock/Speedmaster Head Data

Keep in mind the bloomer heads that people are talking about, appear to make a lot of power, and they are the same speedmaster head being discussed here, WITHOUT any offset rockers or anything super trick. Just a killer port job

    Causes of engine block crack?

I know the PRW rockers definitely can be oiled through the pushrods, not sure about the harland sharps

    Causes of engine block crack?

Rusty is probably correct, but I'd still like to see what the piston to wall clearance looks like also.

    Causes of engine block crack?

I would sleeve that, bore to .030 and build what you have. Add a 4" crank, and you could have a nice 416. As far as the magnum question, use oil through lifters, hollow pushrods and a set of PRW rockers. It's that simple. Nothing complicated at all.

Strapped to a pallet eliminates the distance issue

    Causes of engine block crack?

Totally get that! But it's a 340 block, so it has inherent value beyond any 360, and putting in 1 sleeve, then boring the block to the first oversize would be simple, and at MY shop, that wouldn't cost $1000

    Causes of engine block crack?

Well, that opens up a whole slew of possibilities. First thing I would do is slide a piston out and check piston to wall clearance and ring end gap on a non broken cylinder. Then report back with your findings

Thanks for the kind words, but per our conversation this morning, I believe hes decided to buy a engine off the internet instead of having it built personally. He indicated he thinks a internet engine will be cheaper. I have no idea if that's gonna be the case, since our discussion never got to...

When should you replace magnum valve springs?

The were designed for, and adequate for a stock cam, but after thousands of miles and heat cycles, I dont even reuse them on stock rebuilds.

    WHAT GOES HERE?

Your speedometer cable appears to be in the parking brake cable hole, and the hole your asking about almost looks like someone drilled it, not factory. That's how it looks from here anyway
