Pulling Engine/Trans over the winter....Header Question??

I'd like to change a few things in the Engine compartment - brake lines, distribution block, wiring - basically to make it a little more sanitary looking. Engine is fine - I'll have my engine builder stop over and pull the valve covers, double check valve adjustment. I've found a shop nearby...

Pulling Engine/Trans over the winter....Header Question??

Wow guys this is all really good info! Thank you all so much. I have a 6 quart Kevko pan so it should squeeze by? I’m going to give it a shot and be very careful using a lot of blankets and fender covers. I’ll be sure to update everyone as I go along. And as far as who’s better looking…….I...

Pulling Engine/Trans over the winter....Header Question??

All, I'm planning on pulling the Engine/Trans together soon to get trans 100% and update a few things in the Engine compartment. Question is - with the TTI Headers, will they be able to be left in place while I pull the Engine/trans out? Years ago I'm pretty sure I remember pulling them out and...

    @pittsburghracer gone.

This news hurts and after reading through all the posts I find myself holding back tears. John touched all of us here whether we met him or not, he was a genuine great human being. I always read his posts - they were always entertaining and informative. I guess I don’t need to tell anyone...

    Header extensions / torque tubes?

Dave!! I have always lived by the old school way of learning how to make them the proper length. I used 3 1/2" x 18" "Collectors/torque tubes" whatever term is used..... I used a low temp paint and put a single coat on, took 5-6 runs and wherever the paint is burnt off to, cut them off - Mine...

Belvidere Mopar Happening…..What a great day!

Went to the Mopar Happening in Belvidere IL yesterday, loaded up the Demon Saturday night after a week of cleaning, polishing, detailing and getting in every nook and cranny with my Hello Kitty toothbrush! It was warm and humid, but not unbearable - unloaded the car and parked in the A-Body...

    Any benefit to 10” wheel?

Pic for reference. 275/60-15 on 15 x 10 w/5.5” backspace. I do have the springs moved in to the frame rails. Ultimately giving a wider footprint than an 8” rim, exactly how much, I do not know. Good luck with your build! Share some pics.

    Enclosed trailer purchase!

Thanks for the diamond plate trick, I already have 4 pieces to put down after I paint the floor. My trailer with the options I got is $13,500. My neighbor has the same trailer minus the cabinet, wired for 110 and aluminum wheels was $8,000 in 2014. Elkhart Indiana has to be the trailer...

    Enclosed trailer purchase!

My wife and I are celebrating the arrival of our new family member! Drove to Elkhart Indiana to the Discovery factory yesterday and picked up our new trailer! Pretty much hassle free, gave them the balance in a cashiers check, a guy drove around with a fork truck and put it right on my hitch...

    Enclosed trailer purchase!

Thanks guys! At the most I’ll get a small 4 wheeler and I’ll bring my Generator - tool box and a couple of bins of spare parts. I called and am having the upper cabinet added, that’ll help make some room on the floor. I’ll end up building a bench with possibly a a chest of drawers and make...

    Enclosed trailer purchase!

Thanks so much! I’ve learned Haulmark and Pace aren’t the quality they once were. I’m pretty much going off of others experience when I made my choice. Aluminum was a bit out of my $$ range, fortunately I won’t be pulling it in the snow, so I won’t need to worry about salt on the roads. I...

Last trip to track - Nope! Coil went bad!?

Hey all! Was going to make a last trip to the track and brave the 45-50 degree temps last weekend. Fired up the Demon, took it for a ride, gave it a good checking over and parked it Friday night. Went to fire it up and put it on the trailer Saturday - cranked it…….no fire. Did it a few...

Im roasting in my car, ideas to cool it down.

I used the dynamat, it honestly helps with noise dampening more than insulating from what I can feel, although the car is black with a black interior…..and I’m a little on the husky side so I sweat when it’s 60 degrees and cloudy.

    Enclosed Trailer Questions

I’m thinking of going to the dealership nearby that sells Discovery trailers exclusively. It seems they have a 24’ with 5200# axles, basic interior and screwless for $13,700. Exact trailer in Elkhart IN w/semi screwless is $10,900. I’m 99.9% sure they’re apples to apples. The search continues……

I can finally post here! I’ve owned my Demon since I was 15 years old (54 now) Bracket raced it quite a bit back in the 80’s to the early 90’s with a low compression 360 and a .484 purple shaft cam to consistent 12.30’s - 12.40’s The car became an afterthought when family needs to come...
