hmm, no pad with numbers there either... previous owner said it was a 225 out of a late 70s truck though. Parts I bought for it I asked for 225 and they all fit

I got the engine into the light tonight and was unable to find any pad with a stamping on it anywhere where the head and block mate. Do you have an example picture you can send me? Glad to take another look if I know exactly where to look and what I'm looking for.

Really? huh I thought that would probably be reasonable since the MABBCO short block was 1200 shipped. Looking like i might go grab one from a junkyard and take it to a local machine shop and be all in around $1100. I'll keep this updated if anyone is curious, still open to any leads anyone has.

Don't have the crank pulley, but I do have a brand new water pump for the 5.9 serpentine setup that I posted for sale yesterday. PM me if you have any need or use for it.

I've got a water pump for a 5.9 magnum for sale. The model is GMB 120-3041 OE Replacement Water Pump Nothing wrong with it, I'm just going with a V-belt setup as opposed to serpentine belt and don't need it. New they're ~$40 new. I'd like to get $35 plus shipping.

OK, thanks for the input everyone! sounds like either way I'll be alright with either trimming the input shaft slightly or getting lucky that it'll have a manual crank. I'll give the builder a call and specify a manual trans crank and see what he says. Thanks again!
