When measuring then setting ride height, I understand about loosening the pivot nuts, but what about disconnecting the front sway bay? And then on the actual alignment, should the front sway bar be loose or attached? Thanks

Probably just knocked the cam bolts out of alignment in the front. I think you should be able to re-align it and replace that wheel and you'll be fine. Obviously you should check everything.

You are mechanically inclined enough...that you should be able to get that alignment dang close if not within spec by feel.

Thanks to the wife and her patience, the brakes are bled. The joints are greased. Things are tight enough. Tomorrow is wheel alignment day!

bad transmission as nothing has been said to indicate condition.... bell housing alignment is off - this causes the complaint if everything else is correct, a roller bearing pilot will exacerbate this.

whenever i changed from drum to disc i rebuilt the entire front end so the alignment was off anyway. :)

i made a alignment shaft for my 18 spline, clutch. i measured od of shaft and made it out of aluminum shaft, it fits in splines very good,, no splines to mess with, way easier to use, btw way that plastic alignment tool is worthless, thats why i made my own no splines. the end was turned down...

I agree, depends on the guy doing the alignment.

Make yourself one of these. It can be held to almost any rims with springs or small bungie cords. I use mine on Cragars, American Racing wheels and various others. And yes. you will get a better alignment with less hassle doing it yourself.

I would double check the bell housing bolts for tightness. From what was typed- I feel like the ring gear is out of alignment with the starter- bell housing alignment or double check the ring gear mount on the torque converter. The other issue I had with a 904 that was commercially rebuilt was...

From my experience an alignment rack has the swing jacks front and rear take some weight off the front wheels OR you'll be wrenching against the weight of the front of the car which will strip out the cams, make the adjustment then lower the car down jounce it recheck etc.

...never seen a small block that wasn’t, others have said that all pre-70 small blocks were drilled.. and some have said it’s a mixed bag.. The alignment tool I have is from brewers, it’s essentially an input shaft cut down to be used as an alignment tool so.. if that fits, I should be covered..
