Need recommendation for a Carb for better MPG!

Cheapest to improve mileage? A good tune, vacuum gauge and taller, narrow tires. Also a decent wheel alignment. But as mentioned, a guy might be better off just putting the money in the tank. 17 mpg is totally acceptable in a vintage hot rod. Like spending $45,000 to get a new economy car...

    Disconnect sway bar question

I wouldn't worry about the alignment with the sway bar attached. By all means loosen the links if you like. A fresh rebuild ? I do like to set everything with the tires on the ground for the first time. Sounds like this is a complete redo of the front suspension and all is for the first time. I...

Electric Power Steering conversion kit question

The crowned road issue is 100% the alignment, not the epas. Ever confirmed the alignment specs? Also, fyi, ‘23 rangers have been recalled for having improper load rated tires and improperly tightened lug nuts. My wife had a ‘13 Mustang for awhile with an EPS rack, it had multiple adjustments...

Two words Neo Prene  Elbow, wrist and knee when I lift. Small "runners knee" strap when I bike. It's not providing support necessarily, just some alignment and keeps me aware of needed alignment through repetitions

Front End Alignment Los Angeles Area?

Overcharge is subjective. $100-150. is about the going rate for a Thrust angle alignment. Check 4x4 shops for recomendations on who is in your area.

Did I really mess this up? Rough alignment issues (uneven tie rod length) after steering box and spindle replacement

...the steering arm steering stop hit the control arm on the "short" side.... Although I do want to take the car in for professional alignment, I don’t want to take this to the alignment shop if things are seriously out of whack and they can’t fix it by adjusting tie rods/caster/camber at...

Harmonic balancer tightening (crank bolt) engine in car with 4spd manual transmission

I’ve built several and never seen any pins. I always tighten the timing cover bolts after the damper is on.

Hit a curb last night , what should i expect to replace / inspect ?

Maybe take a look at the UC eccentrics for obvious signs of shifting. The control arm brackets tend to rust and weaken where they attach to the frame. Make sure that's all intact before seeing your alignment Dr.

Lower control arm parallel to ground - alignment problems?

Center of cowl, core support, hood, roof, etc and subtract 90 degrees and see if that is any different than the side of the rail you want to use. A looks greater than B in your pic. Another vote for not critical to the alignment.

I'll get around to it eventually...

An alignment is only as good as the person who does it. That's why I ask around if I need a great shop. My guy retired a few years ago and I asked a local classic car club and they referred me to another great shop 10 mins from home. This shop did a great job and didn't try to charge me for...

    Intake Manifold Head Hight Alignment

Quick question: If my intake manifold fits perfectly with no gasket but then I add my two intake gaskets and the manifold is too high the: Would the right amount to have the machine shop cut off on each side be as simple as the thickness of the gasket?

    Front end rebuild 1972 Duster

...of some experiences I've heard with the urethane, how has the long term durabilty of urethane strut rod bushings compared to the factory rubber that you replaced them with in your charger? I've figured said issues were probably a side effect of another problem with overall setup and alignment.

I bought a sheet of white plastic stuff, polyethelyne i think. Cut it in 12” squares out of 1/2 of the sheet, two pieces with grease in between. I can slide cars on them easily. Could have likely got by without grease.

    A-body LCA 67-72 vs 73-76 differences?

Did som ecars come with a sway bar and some without? I remember a 71 Dart coming in for an alignment in the 90s and I was surprised it didnt have a front sway bar. I assumed someone removed it and hacked the tabs off the LCA's

    Alignment Woes

...I went in as I had the rear bolts as far in as possible and the fronts as far out as possible. 2) Yes, it is a power steering car. Supplemental: Is it ok to have both sides set the the same spec? Or does that cause drifting? I'm with you replicaracer43, I think this is a "piss poor alignment."

Any information on this crank pulley?

That does not look like any standard 273 damper I've seen. An easier to find 318 damper with separate pulley should interchange but there may be subtle differences that don't prevent you from running it. I doubt you'd need to change anything else for belt alignment.

It’s definitely going to be a learning curve but around here it’s been hard to find shops that will touch the alignment on the older vehicles. I’m hoping by Saturday night to be able to take a stab at it. We do have a set of plates my father in law passed over to us.

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Did 4 front end alignments on my car since I owned it and wore out 3 sets of tires from people not knowing how to do old cars with radials. My son did the last alignment and it's been good for a long time. Front end specks for factory settings are different when running radial tires.

Yep. Circle track car alignment plays by a different set of rules.

    FRONT END ALIGNMENT

I took off my front fenders and aligned my car with a digital angle finder and a tape measure with specs from a alignment chart for radial tires. is it perfect probably not but it drives well and there is no uneven wear on the tires.
