I found and purchased a '67 Dart GTS 383, console 4 speed, CONVERTIBLE out of a JY. No motor or trans, medium green, white bucket interior and white top. Sold it, but it's still around, maybe it will be restored someday??????? It had GTS above the 383 rectangular emblem on the fenders...

Great story!!!!!! So how long after that did you realize/find out that it was a factory built car? You'd be surprised how many people still don't know about them or even 340 and 383 'cuda package cars because they are very rarely seen.

I run took over/run the M-code 'cuda registry. You can see this at the bottom of my posts, "M-code 'cuda registry keeper." For M-code 'cudas the numbers built are 300 fastbacks and 60 notchbacks. I have about 110 total in the registry. My avitar pic is of my 6700 mile M-code notchback......

NO, that is a worn down woodgrain wheel! The woodgrain has the metal band in the center, a standard wheel is solid plastic of what ever color, black, blue, red.....

M-code 440's were only made in '69. There were supposedly a total number of 1000 to qualify for super stock drag racing. The supposed numbers are 640 Darts and 360 'cudas.

Dan, very nice car/rust free body to restore!!!!! Did u get a rear trunk finish panel with the car? If so is it silver with fish emblem, or black with round Formula-S emblem? There is NO way to tell 100% what the car was without the fender tag or build sheet. Could be a 340 non-S, 340-S, or...

That was great thinking on your part!!!! Even if it was a nice set for 383, i would have bought at 950, they are getting harder and harder to find and from what i here the right sides are likely gonna dry up due to 440 guys needing them also. I think Rhino (Jim R.) said right sides are drying...

Highly unlikely....probably 383 manifolds saying they will fit 440. BUT hey, ya never know!!!!! I'll give you $2950.....Just kidding, blewbyu had the first shot thru you....i'm just seeing the post now.

Well that sucks!! It's just a 340 motor to him, maybe you could trade him another 340 of equal or more value? Did he say why he wont sell it?

Full VIN on the engine and trans ONLY if built before Jan 1st 1969. After that only the last 8 numbers of the VIN, such as 9B232689
