    I can do it both ways at the pinion and axle. I tried it both ways on this old cone style sure grip. It was 25-foot pounds when I tested it both ways.     I’m gather parts for a 499ci mild build , I have the block and 4.015” eagle crank, eddy rpm intake, and headman headers. I’ll Probably use the 440 source rods and pistons. Not sure on cam and heads. I would like to find some aluminum heads and probably do a roller cam if I can.

    Built a budget stock type 360 magnum rebuild a few years ago, but with a carb and air gap intake. Used that old "RT" cam, and the engine ran, and sounded dead stock. I thought it sucked personally, much better choices. I used it cause it sat on my shelf for probably 20 years.
