Thanks for suggestions. Correct observation in Z-bar in my car is not an OEM piece. It was fab'd many years back. I'd prefer not to change it out of re-do clutch linkage, so I think the option I'm going to take is to go back to stock style starter. planning to swap out tomorrow. My skills...

Success!!!! Took a couple tries but got the fork back in. Thanks again to everyone who took time to reply and encourage. hopefully by this time next week will have everything buttoned up and engine running.

Thanks for words of encouragement. Have a lakewood 2-piece scattershield for a bell but might have enough room through window where fork goes into bell. Will take a look this afternoon. Will keep all posted.

Hi, installed 499 CID wedge in 67 A-body and while installing clutch bellcrank happened to knock release fork off throw out bearing. Anyone know if possible to reinstall without removing trans? Am not sure how to get release fork back under the spring clips. Any suggestions and/or magic...
