Replacement 68 340 four speed cams

I worked in a Sunoco gas station in the 60’s and they had come out with Kevlar belted tires in the late 60’s, they were great but I can’t recall what name they were. And we sure used up a lot of Volkswagen front tires and fortunately I never had issues but I always kept good rubber, brakes and...

Replacement 68 340 four speed cams

You do know tire ratings are for a set extended period of time don't you? I have a feeling some commenters here haven't intentionally set out to see what a car could do "flat out." Even a lowly stock 305 2 barrel '78 camaro with 3.08 gears can top out the 130 mph speedometer. I can tell you from...

Has anyone reversed the twin hood scoops for a cowl induction effect?

If you're talking about those shorty scoops like on the Formula-Ss; I was 16 in 1969, and even as a dumb kid in high-school, I could tell those were tacky; and the hood-tach was even tackier. As to scoops in general, the thing is, on an automatic street car, 65mph will get you ~4200 or so in...

Ok... Rare occasion, watching a free streaming service that has commercials. Is it common now that after a commercial concludes.... That you have absolutely no freaking idea what they were selling?? If they were selling anything.

Gee I guess you never heard of a tune up. O wait you thought putting spark plugs in was a tune up. Valve spring maintenance is part of a real man’s tune up. O wait have you ever heard of points? Ya this was on points, but you probably don’t know what a distributor machine is either. I just have...

Lightweight flywheel options and selection criteria.

My experience. 72 Duster, probably 3400ish lbs. 422ci W2 stroker. 245/253 .600 solid roller. 850 QF carb. 2.66 ratio 4 speed with a Ram Powergrip clutch and a Ram aluminum flywheel. 3.91 rear and 275/60 drag radials. I absolutely LOVE the aluminum flywheel. When you step on the loud pedal...

    Foot brake drag racing

The best way, having good traction and the right convertor is essential . A good working combo. No need for a transbrake for the index you run, 10.0's and bellow I'd be thinking using a brake

Feel like my 440 should be faster

IMHO, probably a toss up between changing the gears (not street driven I guess) and having the cam reground for your combo (just less duration for lower ivc for more dynamic comp for the 9.38:1 static comp), then swap to the old converter which should stall higher than the 360 with the 440 but...
