Follow up test with a CDI ignition

This would be an interesting video. I'm sure many on here would like to see how the distributors compare to each other. I understand you are a busy man but hopefully you can find the time to do this. Keep up the the good work.

    Slant 6 ignition

6 new plugs and new wires and she fired right up and is running good. Still doesn't fix my problem though. It was running good before and I don't believe the hardware I took out was that old. So why do 1, 2, and 6 look pig rich? 3, 4, and 5 only have grey halfway down strap. You would think...

Are 66's mistakenly lumped in with 2nd gen darts by parts manufactrers?

…is the correct answer to this question. Depending on what parts we're talking about, the grouping could be '60-'65, '60-'66, '60-'72, '62-'66, '63-'66, '64-'66, '62-'72, '65-'72, '66-'72, '60-'76, '73-'76, '74-'76, '75-'76, and a whole bunch of one-year-onlies. Within all those, it could be...

    Need help I.D.ing this engine

No need to remove alt bracket to see the number in question—it's on a little ledge-extension of the block deck, located below the frontmost spark plug, facing the sky, and just inboard of the alt/coil bracket. Shoot some brake or carb cleaner at that ledge and wipe it and you should find the...

    Will a reaar end, springs and driveshaft from a 70 Dart 2dr fit in a 66 2dr?

Good catch on the torque converter nose/crankshaft counterbore mismatch. A '66 Dart and a '70 Dart both have a 111" wheelbase, and with a 7-1/4" rear axle and 904 trans there'll be the smaller 7260 U-joints in both cars, so that's not a concern.

    Dash vin tag confusion

My question is ......How is it now that I've decided to attempt to restore my dash vin tag I noticed when googling restoration videos some tags start with a asterisk (star) and end with the same ? I presume the asterisk is in place to prevent an additional digit to be added. Any theory or urban...

    Is this a v8 904?

Not an issue at all,,,,,the old lockup models like this one are all hydraulic . As long as it has the correct converter and it’s in good condition mechanical wise,,,it will work fine . Tommy

    Magnum cooling

Example, my Buick has a 3800 V6 with a factory supercharger. I modified the timing tables so it has close to 40° at cruise but once the boost comes in it drops down significantly, WOT it's only about 17°. Picked up a noticeable amount of power and MPG compared to stock and it still doesn't get...
