New to Mopar with a 71 Valiant Chrger

:welcome: from :canada: In North American markets that car is called a Dodge Demon. Looks like it is in very solid condition body wise, as for powertrain, I don't know what is available or common in your area, and it depends somewhat on how it was equipped originally when it comes to your options.

    CHAMPION PLUG HEAT RANGES

You won't notice any difference changing from one brand to another, as long as the heat range is the same. If you run a compression test, you can get a good idea of what plug heat range you should run. Sounds like you should be running whatever plug is correct for the 68-71 340.

    Initial Torqueflite tear down findings

Gotcha. Being that you are sticking with a shift kit valve body, I would probably go 3.8 or 4.2 second gear lever if you think you have the 5.0, coupled with a late model kickdown servo (single spring 5/8” rod), heavy duty band strut, and a solid kickdown band. Just my own personal thoughts...

    CHAMPION PLUG HEAT RANGES

Sorta. The higher the compression, the colder the plug, as a general rule. in other words, you don't want a plug that puts a lot of heat into the cylinder head (and combustion chamber) on a high compression engine, like a hot plug would tend to do. Saying the a cold plug is better for a...

Are Speedmaster Heads Good? I've Heard a Lot of Bad Press on Edelbrock 340 Heads Lately

I have been thinking about getting some performance heads for a while. Maybe I should have bought some Edelbrock heads before the quality went downhill. I understand that since the company was sold, quality control has left the building. I have a few questions: 1. Where are Edelbrock heads made...

    Clear float bowl plugs

I like the glass ports that everyone switched over to about 20 years ago. The old school stuff was always a hassle. I haven't tuned an old school carb in so many years I'd probably have a panic attack if I saw one! Everything we see on the dyno these days is brand new XP carbs or sometimes a QF...

That's good news. Glad it worked out. Having fixed "mistakes" in the metal shop I know just about anything can be repaired. Example they sleeve cylinders. I could see how a rare damper such as six pack external balance damper could be repaired. It's just metal. Bore it. Sleeve and weld into...

74 Five MPH Front Bumper & Shocks

Thank you, it turned out nice. The channel with the tabs came from a motorcycle cycle lift I found in my neighbors trash. It served a dual purpose to mount the modified fender braces from an old van I scrapped. Its a little wild on the ends, but all in all it looks much better from the front.

In the heater box, just where I told you on Facebook. That's where they all are. Whether the wiring goes straight from the blower or the switch. Glad you found it.

    Auto-X / Roadrace rear suspension 1969 Valiant

Yeah, projects like that often go sideways. They are just so much work that it is hard to find someone who will take it on and do the job correctly without charging a fortune. I work with a local chassis shop who is fast and cheap but sometimes he takes shortcuts that I don't like. But, there...

    [WANTED] A Body Rad #2898033

I had a three-core radiator done for $100.00, in 1976. LOL I say find a set of good 22' tanks and have them recorded. An AC car should have 3 core tanks. Look in Florida, where are the AC cars were sent back then.

Thanks Bodyperson! I think the 67 is first in line for resto. The 69 will need some serious body work. It's beyond my expertise at the moment. Mechanical and electrical are more my thing.

    CHAMPION PLUG HEAT RANGES

So colder is better for a performance engine? I am a good mechanic and can do just about anything on a car, but I don't know much about spark plug heat ranges. I have a 69 Cuda with a 340 built to about 375 HP with 3.55 gears and a 4 speed. what heat range would be best? I usually use Autolite...

    Initial Torqueflite tear down findings

I'll take the vb apart and see what kind of mods were done. Not sure if the separator plate was modified or the B&M came with it's own plate. I might be better off if I can scrounge up a stock valve body.

    CHAMPION PLUG HEAT RANGES

As mentioned about Champion plugs, lower # = lower heat range. Some other brands follow that pattern while others are lower # = higher heat range. Gotta check your brand. FWIW N9Y were originally for high compression 340s and N10Y were for 426 Hemis. (I believe Champion 61 & lower were...
