69 Swinger, Column shift to floor shift

I want to change from a column shift to a floor shifter. I’m assuming I’d just have to change the two upper housings of the steering column, not the entire steering column. Does anyone know if it must be from a Dart, if so what years would be interchangeable. Thanks

That trans tunnel looks small-ish. Does that trans take up the same space as other aftermarket trans, like a TKX?

Found my dads original 1971 duster!

Ya. He still says that it can’t be turned without hitting. But I think the whole assembly needs to be taken off and turned or something. He says it’s out of the way of the steering now, but it looks weird to me, facing the front of the car. Hopefully it’s ok to run it like that until I can...

360 magnum flex plate to A904 torque converter

Never noticed the outer rim on mine making contact, just the pads. 2001 5.9 magnum stock flexplate bolted to a 72 904 with stock converter.

    What gets a car moving?

That why I think it's silly to compare similar hp engines of different displacements with similar gears eg.. 273/318 vs 340/360 vs 408/416 etc.. Since most cars are under geared eg.. 3.23/3.55 etc.. There all ways gonna be closer to optimal for the larger engines than the smaller ones.

    Idler Arm ID

Since it points upward to the centerlink, IF it was an A-body Idler, it would be a 73-76 A-body. Do you have a known E/B body one? They are similar and this one didn't match a E/B body, then you could eliminate that possibility.

    Another 318 set up

It depends on the type of performance and the level you desire. Both horsepower and torque need to be taken into consideration along with the power curve. Remember, a lot of us have street cars with 3 speed slush-o-matics and a highway rear gear, so an high rpm race engine is not fit for that...

Found my dads original 1971 duster!

Surprised they didn't notice oil filter housing pointing the wrong way and corrected prior to engine install? Never seen anyone having filter pointing forward like that? But small issue that can be corrected with engine in car.

318 with Edelbrok perfomer intake and 600 cfm 4 barrel, what headers please?

Doug's are cool and all but I've got a brand new set off right now to ding them in a few places - hits power steering and the torsion bar. Actually I should say they lay right up against the power steering and torsion bars. Close, but no cigar. Anyway don't confuse yourself thinking it's a...

Completed patch panel weld repair on quarter. Test fitting the new rear. Stock springs were junk so ordered ESPO springs +1 but not here until July so I will run it with the stock junk on the longest shackle. I like the fit of the rear. Wheel shown is a little bigger than stock, not sure...

    My 340 getting 6 mpg

I agree completely about taking a look at the air bleeds first. For me though, I would be too chicken to change them out unless I could stuff a blue towel into the bores before pulling the bleed out to make sure it does not accidently drop into the butterflies... then I somehow jerk the throttle...

Thanks. I’ll check these options out. I have a ‘65 coupe and convertible to do, and spare harness from my donor car. My 340 getting 6 mpg

Bigger Air bleeds . More air less fuel. Easy to change on the road by removing the air filter. If you change over to removable style. also square the carb so your not into the PV at idle. Idle off the secondaries and leave the primaries square or drill a hole in the venturi valves as pictured

    What gets a car moving?

Remember riding a bike, changing the gears makes ALL the difference. When you have a low output engine gears are most important.

Chrysler 300 seats in a Duster

Amazed that 300 seat fits and is actually smaller than stock seat. Especially since the 300 is a "full size" car, and our A bodies were considered compacts lol
