    X & H pipe vs straight dual exhaust

    good read,but not apples to apples test.the h pipe system has chambered mufflers and the same pipe size front to back.the x uses "stepped"piping with 3.5 mid pipes and straight tru mufflers .a more accurate test would have been done with the same brand mufflers and system piping size for both tests.

    X & H pipe vs straight dual exhaust

    on my setup an x-pipe made a noticeable difference in both sound and low end torque.top end felt the same,X,H,or true dual.but the x-pipe produced the best low end.the exhaust note also got smoother and quieter.

    if its bone stock,and you plan on keeping it stock or close to it,id run dual 2" front to back.an x or h pipe will smooth up/quiet the exhaust note some and possibly add a little low end over true duals.as for mufflers.....any decent performance muffler will do its more about the sound you want.

    home fabricated down and y-pipes?

    id copy a commando single system.for the downpipes i would not go bigger than the outlet of the manifold.also it will be a mandril system with no loss of diameter so your fabricated ss 1.75 downpipes will flow better than the compression bent ones.
