biggest tire size for A-body plymouth/valiant

I'm trying to figure out how big of a rear tire I can get to fit onto my 64 barracuda. Will have an 8 3/4 with disc brakes...sooner or later. What would be the biggest tire to fit back there without any modifications?

    64 barracuda engine swap

I've got more than $20k into my 64 on body work and paint alone. Still have motor, rear end, front end and interior to go. I have money invested in it because I love it. Anyway. I would love to see your build. I can't do what you do because it's way over my head and frankly, I'm tired of paying...

1964 cuda push button to .....what?

Think its out of a 72'ish van. I think I'm gonna do a custom console but the delete plate is a good idea too....just have to see what I can come up with. There are 2 64 cudas on ebay with those plates...think they were 4 speeds? Whole car though, might be a good deal there for someone...

    64 barracuda engine swap

I appreciate the info. Safety is always first and to be honest I never even thought about not being able to stop it. I will be 100% happy with a well built 360 and I can keep my hemi dreams alive with a new project car down the road :) I love my 64 and I'm going to drive it until I...

1964 cuda push button to .....what?

I'm not trying to keep the push button. Basically just wanted to match a new shift assembly up to the new 727. Is it as easy as finding a new auto shift assembly and cutting it into the center console? If anyone has done anything like this, what did you salvage from or buy new?

1964 cuda push button to .....what?

Title might be confusing, sorry. What is involved with pulling out the orig push button shifter and going with a floor shifter? Other than completely re designing the dash and moving it from there to the floor? Any suggestions on what to go with is appreciated. Undecided on rear...

    64 barracuda engine swap

I Haven't posted in a long time, but I still lurk around from time to time. I had originally planned to build a 360 for my 64. I got a lot of great ideas and engine combos from the members here. That being said I may have changed my mind. I would be very happy with a 360 but what I really want...

    1964 barracuda parts

The list keeps growing......I track down a part here and there and 2 more take it's place... Here's the list : -"barracuda" fender script..1 is good and 1 is missing an "a", but I'd take the pair so they match if they have some wear and tear on them -fender moldings -kick...

Wanted: 64 cuda emblems and window trim

I'm looking for a few emblems for my 64. The most important and hardest to find is the hood emblem that pivots over the hood release. The second is the front fender script "barracuda" that is missing 1 letter. I'm also looking to find the side window trim and seal that goes between the front...

    looking for emblems,seals,locks....

I'm looking for a plymouth hood emblem correct for the 64 cuda. The one I have now must've fallen off at some point because the previous owner put a phillips screw right through it at the pivot point....not even sure it could be saved but trying to track one of these down on the net has been a...

    Trying to get 400hp from a 360

Wow thanks for breaking that down Rumblefish. I chose 400 hp and $5k out of my arse really, no rhyme or reason. Money isn't an issue but I dont like wasting it. I have a lot of knowledge sources around me (family and friends) and to be honest I never even thought of looking for books. This...

    Trying to get 400hp from a 360

Thanks all, I have a lot of parts to look up. This is a new hobby for me so I have a few questions of course about some of these combos... Seems everyone agrees on the pistons and carb. The machine work stuff is way over my head at this point, but I 'd like to learn about it. Is this going...

    Trying to get 400hp from a 360

I'm trying to get around 400 horse power out of a 360 that will be a daily driver and use pump gas. I have a complete 360 that is going to be pulled apart for the block and then built up to (hopefully) the 400 horse power I want. Open to any and all proven combos. Looking to keep it around $5k...

    64 cuda project

I'm not sure if this is the correct area to put this so I apologize if it is wrong. I have a 64 barracuda I'm restoring and I have some questions. The car is in decent shape and is 100% original. The car has never left California and I'm the 4th owner. A few rust spots and an eaten driver...

    New guy

Hello everyone, I'm new to the site and to the hobby. I'm currently fixing up a 64 cuda as my first resto/project car and I'm looking to learn as much as I can. Pretty much starting with a clean slate as I've never been a huge car guy, just an admirer. Anyhow, I'm most likely going to have lots...
