washer welded to front of k-frame

Neat topic, my body guy noticed a metal disc welded to the front of the k member on my 70 Bee, actually two, one welded over top of the other. He said the numbers on it decoded to 440 six pack. I went out to the garage to check another b-body 70 k member I have there, only one welded disc with...

Sorry to say, it's been like this since it was put back in the car. Pressure checks sound like the way to go.

    727 shifting issues

Thanks fishy, the trans was freshened 2 years ago, new steels, frictions and seals. Nothing fancy, pretty much a stock rebuild. The shift lever was changed to 4.2, a bolt in sprag added and stage 2 shift kit installed. It's a 67', the trans, shop thought the valve body was not correct for the...

    727 shifting issues

Car is 340/727 Dart. In drive, normal acceleration, shifts 1,2,3 by about 30mph, I think that's about right?? Aggressive acceleration (pedal to the floor) very sloppy, feels to me like slipping, till 3rd then pulls strongly. No way this thing will do a burn out! Slowing down, if I select 1st...

    Buying a converter?

Got a line on a Dynamic 9.5 / 3800 stall, guy says it was behind a 400, not sure what car or engine build but he said it was "too much for his setup". I'd like to put this behind my 1969 340/727 in the Dart. My motor is pretty much a stock rebuild, XE268 cam, LD340, 750 Holley, car has 3:23's...

    Wheel cylinder rods

Hi All, anyone know where I can pick up a set of wheel cylinder rods? I'm doing a rear drum (10" a-body) build up with all new parts and I'm missing these small rods that connect the wheel cylinder with the shoes. I thought they'd come with the wheel cylinders but they didn't. Any help much...

Disc brake conversion / front wheels

Yup, small bolt pattern. I've since read that the 4 1/2" rims are for the 9" drum / slant six cars and the 5 1/2" came on the disc equipped, V8 powered, cars and are slightly different to accommodate the caliper.

Disc brake conversion / front wheels

 Sorry about that, a little more info...........stock 14" steel rims, the car (72' Swinger) originally had 9" drums on the front. I've put on a stock KH disc set up, if I remember correctly, when I snug down the rims now they bind against the caliper, a spacer helps but that makes the...

Disc brake conversion / front wheels

I converted the 9" drums on the front of my 72' Swinger to a disc set up from a 70' Valiant. Do the rims need to be a different back space for the disc set up?? If so, what back space would I be looking for? Car is still in storage, just trying to get organized for the spring.

Shipping the car Ontario to NB

I'm thinking of shipping my Swinger down to Moncton from Southern Ontario for a couple weeks this July. Can anyone in Southern Ontario, or the East Coast, recommend a service that they've used that they we're happy with or let me know which ones to avoid and what kind of money I could be looking...

    Drum to disc..rim backspace?

Do 14" steel rims on a 9" drum brake setup use the same backspace as rims used on the KH brake setup? Both are SBP for a 72' Dart, thanks.

    69' 340, 71' rad, what else?

Yeah, that's crossed my mind, I gotta dig around and see what I can find. Thanks.

    69' 340, 71' rad, what else?

Any chance that the p/s pump that's still bolted to the slant I took out would bolt up? It's a 72'.

    69' 340, 71' rad, what else?

Thanks Kim, I guess what I'm asking is, does pulley depth alone line everything up? Can I use the early components and bracketing with the later pulleys or does it all have to change.

    69' 340, 71' rad, what else?

I'm piecing together my car over the winter. I picked up a 1971 rad in the fall to put in front of my 1969 340. I got the right water pump to make the rad hoses work. What else do I need to get everything to line up? Do the alternator, ps pump and crank pulley also need to be 70' and later or...

    727 tranny brackets

Here's what I'm after, the brackets at either end of the torque shaft. This is for a column shift Dart with a 727. Anyone know what (Carline V,L) refers to?

    727 tranny brackets

Thanks Sedanman, the brackets I'm after are the torque shaft support brackets. One bolts to the side of the tranny (727) the other to the frame. The holes are lined with nylon bushings that the torque shaft pivots in. Thanks anyway.

    727 tranny brackets

Yeah, that's kinda where I'm heading now. If I cut the frame bracket and splice in a piece to lengthen it, that should do it. I was just hoping to find the right bracket and take the easy route out, but then that wouldn't be hot roddin'8)

    727 tranny brackets

Seasons Greetings all. I took the slant six/904 drive train out of my 72 Swinger and put in a 340/727. It’s a column shift car. The torque shaft brackets don’t seem to line up. It looks like the bracket on the frame could stand to be about 5/8” higher to line up with the one on the tranny. I...

    Tranny cooler line routing

Thanks Bob, how do you secure them over there? or do you need to? The oil pan flange route looks a little peskier to bend but I could tie them to the oil pan bolts.

    Tranny cooler line routing

Got the Dougs hung on the engine, good fitting headers! Since the stock cooler lines no longer fit, where do you guys route the lines. I'm bending 5/16th hard line from the 727 up to the bottom of the rad. I can run them up the frame rail then across, or tuck them over the header tube and run...
