I ran a 16:1 box with fast ratio pitman idler for a few summers. I think it was 12 something to one. It wasn't horrible with skinny front tires and a big block under the hood. For reference a fast ratio p/s box is 14:1.

Looking good! Now you know why the s60 with side adjusters is so darn popular. I have a case spreader which helps, yet it is still a PITA to load the carrier with shims in a stock D60. If you ever see one with a spun race you will be a believer in preload.

I have used FireCore, MSd, Moroso, Taylor, Magnacore Blue Streak (same product line as the link) and Accel with good good results. The most I ever made on n20 using Blue Streak was 576whp. I think you will be fine with the more economical of the two.

The best thing to do IMO is switch to the 73-76 centerlink/pitman/idler and run a 16:1 manual steering box. Much more room on the later setup

I have a 425ish hp 7.3 gasser in my 2023 f250 service truck. With 4.30 gears and a 10 speed it is stout. A few trucks back I had a v10 triton and it was gutless...4500rpm redline lol. I sure wish they would come out with a big hemi like that for the Ram trucks.

The QA1 tube K is about 15lbs lighter than a stock BB a body K.

I like .040 for Comp lifters. I have set the as loose as .010 with no increase in performance. They were noisy at idle with .010 preload and 5w-30 oil. Tightening up to .040 preload lessened the noise tremendously. Running 10w-40 made it go away completely. I agree with others on calling...

That is a myth mostly marketed by Eastwood. Any black enamel is "radiator paint".

The 70 e body style aluminum radiator in my 68 GTS is painted black. I will go up to 190-195 in the heat of summer if I hot lap it at the strip. I use a light coat of VHT engine enamel. The factories used lacquer and the eventually switched to enamel.
