[SOLD] 750 Street Demon Carb 1904

Here is a pic of the carb. I can take more if needed. The spacer is 1/2" thick and is the spreadbore to spreadbore style adapter. The spacer started as a 1" spacer but had a machine shop take it down to 1/2" for hood clearance. I used this carb on a stock cast iron manifold and stock 340 air...

    My Love/Hate with making headers

Tubular Automotive also has "make your own" kits in numerous sizes. You can ask them to include some connector pieces (a 2" OD pipe will take a 1 7/8" OD connector or slip piece) and you can put them together without having to weld them in place for the layout. Tubular Automotive is in Mass. at...

Modifying headers, what size collector should I use???

I would agree with what has already been stated. 1 5/8" primaries are the size for some small block applications. 1 7/8", 2", 2 1/8" primaries are what you will usually find used on the big block applications. Time to search for another set of the long tube 4 into 1 style headers. Those tri-y's...

Modifying headers, what size collector should I use???

If they are indeed 1 3/4" primaries, I would think a 3" collector would do a good job.

[FOR TRADE] Trade Street Demon 750 carb for 625 carb or other

I installed the rods and springs mentioned as well as put the original .040 pump squrter back in. Also adjusted the acc. pump arm to try to get it to squirt as soon as the linkage moves. Couldn't for the life of me get the acc, pump to squirt until the linkage was just about half way down on...

Are the jets the ones that came with the carb? I don't see those jets listed on the Demon website for the street demon carb.

[FOR TRADE] Trade Street Demon 750 carb for 625 carb or other

I didn't notice any trouble before I chose to rebuild my TQ carb but that doesn't mean anything. You may be right. I have the initial timing set at 12 degrees BTDC but do not know what the total advance or when it comes in.

[FOR TRADE] Trade Street Demon 750 carb for 625 carb or other

Rusty, I'm glad you chimed in. I really want to use my stock TQ carb and only purchased this one in case the rebuild it needed did not go well. Unfortunately the TQ carb floods now after the rebuild. I made sure I replaced the "o" rings at the bottom of the fuel wells and replaced the floats...

[FOR TRADE] Trade Street Demon 750 carb for 625 carb or other

To my understanding, I thought if you had a stumble from the transition from primary to secondaries than the air door could be a culprit. I have a stumble off of idle. Thanks for the tip, I will try this adjustment ASAP.

[FOR TRADE] Trade Street Demon 750 carb for 625 carb or other

I think I purchased too big of a carb for my car. Carb is a 1904 Street Demon. I have been combatting an off idle stumble and have tried several squirter sizes to compensate. Called Holley and they say the carb may be too big for a stock 340. Anyone buy a 625 Street Demon they feel is too small...

Where can I buy 1966 metering rods?

In the process of rebuilding my TQ carb and noticed that the outside edge of the metering rods (throughout the transition area) were worn flat. Where can I find a good set of 1966 metering rods? Does this flat spot on the side affect the performance that much? Thanks

    What is this hole for???

So there should be something internal? There is nothing in this hole and the top gasket has a hole that lines up with it as well. There is a lot of vacuum there when the car is running. All the pictures I could find of this year carb all look like the hole is there and unplugged.
  28. johnson1550

    What is this hole for???

Can someone explain to me what this hole is for? I just rebuilt my carb and this hole was plugged with a bolt. I removed it because it did not look like it belonged there. The car has a huge vacuum leak with this open and of course the idle wont come down. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
