    1971 Duster 340 - #'s Matching Project (Central IL)

Yes! The color really grew on me. I had plans to resto-mod it but I loved the way the Tawny Gold and white worked together. The guy who I was going to sell it to originally wanted to build it for his wife; and paint it Panther Pink. Maybe it was a sign? Haha.

    1971 Duster 340 - #'s Matching Project (Central IL)

Almost forgot one thing.. When I removed the vinyl top (factory, never replaced), there was an area of bondo above the driver's door opening (you can see the spot on the picture below). I ground all the bondo out and found a very crude metal "repair" done with screws and a slide hammer...

    1971 Duster 340 - #'s Matching Project (Central IL)

Note that the bumpers are gone, but this is a good shot of the grille. It was removed to keep it safe while moving it between storage locations.

    Well I couldn't find the fender tag info, but here's a breakdown of the buildsheet in case you can't read it: VIN: VS29H1B394XXX E55 - 340 4bbl (High Performance) D32 - A-727 Auto Trans D53 - 8 3/4" Rear, 3.23:1 Gears, Open Diff T76 - E70x14 RWL Polyglass Tires GY4 - Light Gold...

    1971 Duster 340 - #'s Matching Project (Central IL)

Just to clarify; the title and build sheet are not lost. They are alive and well. I know where they are and I know exactly which box they're in. They are at my parents house ~60 miles away, just not physically with the car right now (ie, if you went and looked at the car, they wouldn't be...

    1971 Duster 340 - #'s Matching Project (Central IL)

I think it's time for this to go unfortunately. Had this going for almost a decade, been running into roadblocks and then took a job across the country but they wouldn't move this with me (hah). A friend said he'd buy it, moved it out of storage and into his garage but then backed out as he's...

    K-Frame Bolt Size

Figure 55% or so of your curb weight, maybe 750# each or more. Don't know what mine are rated at, but I got them at Lowe's..5" I think they are, and have held up fine just sitting there and moving on/off trailers but you see how complete my car is right now..

Value of '71 Duster 340 Basketcase

Only good picture from the day it was brought home..stupid camera malfunction! Back in the day before digitals were common..

Value of '71 Duster 340 Basketcase

I've had this project for a long time. I went to school and wound up moving across the country for a job. I'd really like to save it myself but I just can't from 2200 miles away and I can't really afford to pay for anyone else to do it (what sounded like a great entry level wage was killed by...

    K-Frame Bolt Size

Here's what I wound up with..a wood K-Frame! Kinda redneck but it got the job done and was dirt cheap & easy to put together. I had to fab it up 40 miles away from the car using the FSM for dimensions between the bolt centers but it all went without a hitch thankfully (I was hopping on a plane...

    K-Frame Bolt Size

Oh, and it's for a '71 Duster if it matters. I'd measure myself, but it's a bit far away in storage at the moment, I'd like to just make one trip to install it..

    K-Frame Bolt Size

Hi guys, I've got a quick question that has been hard to answer so far: I need to know the size/pitch of the big K-frame to frame rail bolts! I sold off my suspension for books one semester, now that I've graduated it has paid off with a job that will let me restore my Duster in a somewhat...
