Thanks, I already have dennys HDK kit, but need to start shopping for brakes, shocks, ect. I keep hearing problems with center hub size issues with Wilwood brakes. I had been pretty stuck on 15" wheels, but if I go larger, I like the looks of your wheels and may go 12" brakes instead of the 11"...

If you don't mind sharing, what size wheels are you running up front, and what brakes did you go with for the HDK setup?

One kit I'm considering is 140-14271, that hub is listed as 2.76" and I could not get a caliper inside the cop wheel to measure, but measured the hubs on my 74 disc brakes and that measurez 2.8", so it will fit BUT it states it increases the track width .26", so I'll need to mount the wheels...

Only reason four piston calipers was a thought was to account for the rear disc being larger 11.2 rotors on the explorer 8.8. If I could keep the disc brakes that came on the car, I would, but the extra room in the engine bay the hdk gives me is worth swapping brakes, even if I need to go to...

Not sure, but keep hearing people having problems with 15" wheels and the 12.19" kits, and I don't know anyone that has a wilwood setup I can test it on. I really want to keep the wheels, I'll even buy some aftermarket 15x10s cop style wheels if I do minitub the car.

Current tires are 235/60-15's rear and 185/60-15 in front on steel cop wheels, but the tires are around 10 years old and will need to be replaced (and may change sizes) if it ever drives again. I have been thinking about minitubbing the car and going 15x10's in back, but decided to put that off...

The 11" wilwood is a four piston caliper that are 1.75", the explorer would be stock single piston which I think is 1.875"

I wish you could fit these 11.75" rotors on a mustang II spindle :(

I'm running into a dilemma, really bummed because I want to keep my 15" cop wheels for my 74 dart, but I am doing an HDK k member and need to order front brakes and it seems the only ones that will fit for sure are 11" front disc, and those will be smaller than the rear disc that are 11.2" on...

I pulled the slant out of my 74 dart and it needs a new home, has a oem carb with less than 2k miles on it. Free, rather see it put back to use rather than drop off at a junkyard for a core. Brooklyn park area

I have heard it is harder to mount the wheels when there is lots of back spacing. Have you found that to be true with your setup? I want to keep the same front spacing with the steel wheels to keep it somewhat stock looking

One more question before I order. I see it comes assembled, can it come unassembled so i don't need to press out the ball joints in the a-arms and possibly other components that will get powder coated? Or is there an option to get it powder coated before its shipped? Thanks again!

I am going to be ordering mine soon, but with it being bare metal don't want flash rust to start. So..... what have you guys used to coat it, and any regrets? I am thinking it needs to be coated inside and out to prevent it from rusting from the inside out. thanks

same problem here, I HATE the seat belts. Always fight them, and was hoping there was a good cure rather than doing the lube, and know the fact they are finicky so pull them slowly. :(

Looking to improve the worn out ones currently on the car. Looking for something that would not be too much for a slant 6 with a/c. Prefer aftermarket that someone changed there mind on. This is for a 74 swinger

So is the slant six a go? We have a bone stock slant six that needs help on cold starts and had thought about the electric choke, but this would be even better!
