    360 .03 over with ported W2 heads

Sorry, posted on my phone and half of what i typed didnt show up! Fresh 30 over 360 block with ported W2 heads. I have flat top pistons now and need more compression. They are .005 in the hole. The W2 heads are 73 CC. I want a hot street motor on pump gas. I dont have a cam or lifters. I do...

    compression or flow?

I bought the heads used and didnt know they had previously been cut. Didnt realize the open part was that deep stock. These heads cc to 75 cc!

    compression or flow?

As stated before, i have an old SSh-320 Crane cam but im pretty sure i need a different one from what i have learned here. Any suggestions? I have tooling and can cut the valve pockets larger and deeper if needed.

    compression or flow?

Just kicking around some figures. The open chamber part of the W-2 head is roughly .050 deep on all 8 chambers. if I cut the heads.050 and the intake side the correct amount I can use a .035 head gasket and have .040 quench on the 360 and 10.61 compression ratio Same senerio on the 340, but...

    compression or flow?

I have a cam, but dont know if it would work with the w-2 heads on the 360 or the 340. Its just one I already have that i used on a motor years ago. Im not apposed to buying a cam and lifers.

    compression or flow?

Well I might just go with the 340 and W-2 heads then. I need to mock it up and do some measuring to see exactly how far the stock pistons are out of the block. The block is apart and I dont have main or rod bearings to do that yet. I also need to CC the heads to see exactly what CC's they...

    compression or flow?

So, if were to put my W2 heads on a 69 340 with stock slugs in them? Would the compression be up to par with a 240-250 duration 550-600 lift cam? Just asking. My 360 is fresh bore. The 340 is very usable.

360 flat tops wirh Edelbrock heads

I can't confirm the 1st gear ratio, its a non overdrive A body 4 speed so it should be 2.66. I do have a 391 pig I can use, Im wide open on the tire size. Thats another thing on the shoppin list. I may relocate the springs inboard and do the mini tub. Fast?? Well its a 90% street car. I dont...

360 flat tops wirh Edelbrock heads

From the other post I have going about compression and flow, looks like the W-2 heads may be worthwhile. I have a Holley strip dominator for the W-2 heads. What am I expecting? 500 HP would be nice. I just want a quick fast Dart! I have accumilated so many parts thru the years I need to quit...

    compression or flow?

I have a strip dominator W2 intake. TTi W2 1-5/8x1-7/8 step headers. I have an old Crane SSH 320 cam that worked pretty well on an old 340 that closed @ 46 deg ABDC. 496" intake and 504" exhaust. I believe it was some where aroud 243 deg duration. I would probably look fr somethuing like that...

    compression or flow?

I bought the W2 heads used. The old Iron 810 castings. I was told they were ported by shady dell. I have no way of confirming that. I do have a set of W2 porting thempates and they fit perfectly.....

    compression or flow?

Thinking of a cheap build with avaiable parts that i already have. 360LA block with H116CP speed pro .030 over pistons, .005 in the hole. Set of Edelbrock untouced (used, not ported) RPM 63 cc heads Quench closed chamber) .036 head gasket... comes up as 10.6 static compressio. 4 speed in a dart...

360 flat tops wirh Edelbrock heads

I have Iron rockers and a few different 4BBl intakes and a 6 pack. 4 speed and 355 gears. Havent oicked a cam yet but probably hydraulic or solid flat tappet.

360 flat tops wirh Edelbrock heads

Oh yes. I will measure everthing. I am limited to .575 lift with the edelbrock heads. I know the intake valve closing has a lot to do with dynamic compression.

360 flat tops wirh Edelbrock heads

The place that i had the deck cut didn't tell me. He said .005 was safer incase i ever blew a head gasket there would be a little to clean up. What ever. I can make that .005 in head gasket thickness. Acording to the math he must have cut .012 or so.

    A-body Cars w/ 383 & 440 Engines - Power Steering & Brakes

My old 74 Scamp had a 318 with power steering. I used the DC K frame mod with the spool mounts and Schumacher headers and it dropped right in. U did bend on of the steel parts of the line a little for more clearance. The only interference I had was the aluminum valve cover couldn't be removed...
