Is this the axle you put under the Dart, I am experiencing the same problem with brake lines, I have a later model axle 70 and newer and the original brake lines do not work if i may what brake lines did you use on this axle pictured above

I know I'm talking about the carrier bearings I had to tear it down to get the splines lined up

yes they are I am going to set it up, I just aligned everything and put it back together to see if the shafts fully seated in the center section, this weekend I am going to set the lash and end play

Well, not yet I am saying that the splines were misaligned, I ordered another set of green bearings when they come in I will update, however by all accounts the shafts go in a lot further than before

Yes a cone type sure grip,and they were out of alignment,

Here's what I found,

I tore it down late last night and found that I couldn't fully seat one of the axles because the inner splines were not aligned, which would prevent the shaft from fully engaging, so hopefully, this takes care of the issue.
