DANGEROUS PRODUCT = Moog Ball Joints

The oval track racing industry uses thousands of the 727 lowers each year.. But we use an aftermarket low friction upper and lower for the most part.

    Seriously wrong Car Identifications ?????????

I had one just like it except it was a brown station wagon with a convertible top and a V-12 Detroit diesel and a 6 speed out of a Ferrari.

Tony's parts acquired by Vans Auto.

Van's used to be an old car junkyard. I picked that place many times buying every early Hemi engine that was easy to get to plus quite a bit of Ford 351C parts. Now that I have a Coronet I have purchased a few things for that project. I also really like the guys at MegaParts...both are kinda...

    Finding the correct spark plugs.

I found the correct spark plugs for my project in my parts pile...they are likely only 20 years old . I'd use the new ones I have but those are even older.

    What oil pump to use.

No reason to use anything but a stock pump. My oval track 7,000 rpm motors ran stock pumps (with oiling mods) without issues.

What year did the bypass hose size change?

Well that eBay link helped...thanks. And my balancer deal is ok... I think all 318's are internally balanced...yes? No? I've been in a 340 fog for awhile I guess. Here's a video of my perceived or real conundrum...

What year did the bypass hose size change?

So my intake is a '69...water pumps are later. Since there isn't any way to change the as-cast larger water pump fitting I have to figger out how to adapt/reduce/enlarge the intake to fit the later bypass hose fitting. Maybe just fitting an early water pump to the engine would be simpler...

What year did the bypass hose size change?

Working on my ' 74 318...the bypass hose I bought fits the '69 intake nipple but is too small for the water pump connection. This is a mix and match engine using my available water pumps...all three pumps that I have feature the same larger water pump nipple. So what year fixed this issue?

    A Discussion on Funerals

So this week my wife and I decided to go buy a burial plot in a small local cemetery . I want to be buried...she wants to be cremated. If I go first they will bury me and put my wife's remains in the same hole when sho goes. I'm going to hire a bagpiper to play Amazing Grace and have one of...

Need help with H2O/front cover assembly.

Well I figured out I'm missing two of the brackets for the power steering pump...the two top ones. I think my Saginaw pump will work ok but I have to find the correct pulley...I'll work on that tonite as long as I'm not working until midnite. 14-18 hour workdays are tuff on this old man.

Need help with H2O/front cover assembly.

I'm using a post '69 timing cover and balancer. The engine is a 10/73 production deal. I don't have any '69 or earlier parts so I'm moving the stock '65 lower hose to the passenger side. I never had to worry about alt and pwr steering brackets on my recent race engines since we just run two...

Here's my new conundrum.... I may have answered my own question late in my comments but I would value your opinions. I made this to post on FBBO but I thought I'd pester you guys first! BTW I'm dropping off my radiator at the shop tomorrow AM to have the outlet moved to the passenger side.

Need help with H2O/front cover assembly.

I have the triangular piece...now I know where it goes. I did have a longer bolt in one hole of the front cover...replaced it with a shorter one. Thanks. BTW this is a late '73 engine going in my '65 Coronet. I'm going to dress it out before I install it in the car. After the manifolds go on...

    Let’s talk CB radios

500 watts vs 5 watts of power. AM radio uses the ionosphere to " skip" the signal to a much larger area. But the skip doesn't work all the time. At home, on my base station, I could talk 200 miles without the skip...the Moonraker 6 antenna was huge (15' long?) . With the skip running I could...

    MSD or Blue Streak wires?

The best I have ever used for racing were from Scott Wires. They custom build to your specs. For 90% of our cars a $30 set of wires is all you need...they are just another shiney object to waste our money on like roller rockers, cheap chrome crap and gear drives. Yes I'm a crabby old b@stard.

    Let’s talk CB radios

My first CB was a 6 channel Johnson . Late 70's I had a Courier 23 channel with another 46 channels added on using a 500 watt kicker. I had 6' heavy duty antennas that I had to swap out because of low bridges coming into Milwaukee.. I used to talk to guys fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and a...
