    Noisy Speedometer

You can get liquid graphite in like a 2 oz. bottle. I've used that with limited results. The best fix I've ever used though is WD-40. It will penetrate all the way through the length of the cable housing and refresh the factory graphite lube.

Anybody want to relocate their rear springs?

Sorry you don't think it's a better way. I do. Like I said before a set of lowering blocks will correct the height difference. The bolt in version has a bolt that runs through the existing frame. The welded version for racing welds to the inside of the frame. The rear spring bracket is...

Anybody want to relocate their rear springs?

Just use a 1" lowering block will get it within 1/2" of stock ht. or 2" block will make it 1/2" lower than stock. The big advantage in doing this is it is WAY faster and just as strong as the box method. Essentially you remove 4 nuts to remove the stock bracket and reinstall this one using...

Who wants to relocate their springs?

Oh yea here's a pic without motor, tranny, radiator and no bumpers. this allows use of a 49" flange to flange rear end (custom built).

Is this worth it? 1974 440

What motor was in the Valiant? If it was a small block, keep the motorhome water pump housing since it dumps out on the same side as a SB radiator. If there's nothing wrong with the water pump don't change it either as it is a special high flow pump that's not available any more. Motorhome...

Anybody want to relocate their rear springs?

It works! And it's WAY easier than the old fashioned way. Which I've done once. And once was enough for me to come up with a better way.

Who wants to relocate their springs?

That's why I posted it here first. I want to see if I can answer everyones questions... without getting stumped myself. The front shackle is about 2.50" lower but the rear shackle remains the same height so the centerline of the tire only moves 1/2 of the 2.50" or 1.25" and like I said the...

Who wants to relocate their springs?

Yes it raises the rear end of the car about 1.25" which I suppose could be corrected with a 1" lowering block but I like the looks.

Anybody want to relocate their rear springs?

Going to start fabricating my spring relocator brackets and I'm looking for 5 people to help beta test. This kit will move your springs inboard 3.50" I'm thinking about two versions. One will be a stock to mild performance version that simply bolts in for people with limited fab experience and...

    Show me your rally dash..

    Rust remover?

I built an electrolysis tank out of a 55 gallon plastic barrel. I lined the inside with thin stainless sheeting I found second hand. Fill it with Arm and hammer washing soda and water mixture (cost about $1). Then I hang what ever I'm wanting to derust with wire from a 4X4 block of wood that...

Small port heads, big port intake. How bad?

For a street grocery getter your probably not going to see much improvement by going with a small port intake. But with that said you are loosing some low RPM torque, which will hurt fuel economy some. If you were using this on a truck that was towing I'd say make the change. As for the carb...

    inboard spring kit

Here's what I did. For the front I used the existing mounting holes to mount my super top secret... spring relocator system. I only had to tack weld the other side to the inner frame rail for racing or simply drill and install a bolt for street use. For the rear I simply took the existing...

Anybody using Ebay/chinese BB timing gear set?

Too late for me. I finally decided to take my chances and try CAT gear drive timing set. Initial price was like $80 delivered to my door. That's where the cheap ended... It essentially took 15 hours of machining, fabrication and cam timing to get it inside the timing gear cover which...

Relocation, once again, this time, more interesting...

Long trips such as the one your about to partake should be carefully thought out. I like to always travel with a change of underwear (just in case you get in an accident). Food such as Dorito's that go well with beer. Beer of course (hidden in a huge cooler in the trunk along with your case...

    73 340 Duster

With a torch/grinder and welder that can be fixed easily enough. Even if it's missing you can cut one off a junk 360 block.
