I'm hoping that is the issue! I ordered some richer rods for the carb that will be here today.

On my list of things to check! I did a compression check on it this morning and they were all close. Lowest was 135 and high was 142. The metering rods I have made no difference. If I get a chance this week, I will pull the covers and have a look . Thanks

I am going to have to pick some up tomorrow. All I have is a set of 7347s from another carb. I threw them in for the heck of it and am about to take it for a drive.

It's got 7547 rods in it now. It pops while revving in neutral as well.

It definitely not a pop pop pop. More like one or two pops on acceleration and then clears up once it's off that 1000-1200 rpm range. It will also do it randomly on the highway if the motor slows down going up a hill in 4th gear. If I speed up to keep the rpm up, it's fine

The timing was set when I got the engine and had a slight ping under acceleration. I backed the timing off slightly and the ping and exhaust pop went away at idle. I have not put a light on it yet. The distributor is not vacuum advance and I have not done any carb adjustment other than the...

When I first got it running, it would pop from the exhaust at idle once warmed up. After I got the timing sqaured away, that issue is gone. Once and a while it will pop out the exhaust as it idles down at a stop light. Usually only one or two pops and it quits.

1406 Edelbrock. Ignition is Mallory unilite electronic. Module, cap, and rotor are new.

I've read about that a few different places and would think there would be some valve train noise if the cam was worn that much. I'm going to dig into it and eliminate everything else before I throw a new cam in it. Thanks for the input.

Spent a little time with my steering wheel this week.

Looks great! I just finished a similar build on my father in-laws 69 fastback. Been driving it for about a week now and it's a blast.

Ran the buffer around the rust spots and from 20 yards, it actually looks ok. Took it to a cruise night at the local drive in Thursday and it really drives nice. 150 trouble free miles so far.

Finally pulled it out of the corner after winter and took it for its maiden voyage. So far everything seems to be working surprisingly well! First stop was the Cemetery to visit the father in-law.

I bought a set of used fenders that are in really good shape besides a little rot in both dog legs. I have found the patch panels if needed, but one side is missing the inner support/bolt flange at the bottom of the leg. If anybody has any input, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
