Yeah, I have a note on my iphone that has all the part numbers I used on mine. Always a good idea, as I'm getting older.

    Belt guidance

Yeah, tonysrt, I measured 44-45 inches for both sides in this configuration. I ordered two 44 3/8" belts this morning. Gates has a nice lookup tool for sizing, width and circumference inputs, shows you the part numbers and sizes available. Note of caution for anyone ordering custom sized...

Ok, the Borgeson unit's tension adjustment is underneath, that's why you can't see it in my pics. So, yes, the Borgeson single bracket doesn't look anything like an OEM set of brackets. It's quite nice actually, very very solid, no chance of it bending out of plane. Sorry for any...

    Belt guidance

I appreciate your concern AJ/FormS, but think it's OK. This is a 360 magnum. That is not a reverse flow pump. The alternator pulley is not on backwards, it was a dual pulley that was cut in half at some point. Also, the pulleys as I have them are aligned perfectly. I just measured the...

    Belt guidance

OK, great...so the belts I have would fit MidnightSwinger's arrangement, but... I took some pics of my set and it looks like my pulleys align as I described (see pics) that is: water pump, power steering pump and front balancer pulley, and then, alternator and rear balancer pulley. So, I'll...

    Belt guidance

I'm putting a 360 magnum in my '67 dart, setting it up as an LA would be, OEM LA type alternator and Saginaw power steering brackets. I bought what I thought were the correct v-belts for the alternator (goes on alternator and rear balancer pulleys) and water pump/powersteering/fan (goes on...

    power steering bracket mounting holes

OK, this is the 2 lower holes on the timing cover, yes. I was curious, this is a Borgeson bracket and the instructions also say these go into a water jacket. They must be confused.

    power steering bracket mounting holes

Hi I just mounted my Saginaw style power steering bracket to the 360 magnum. I took a punch and checked the holes, they appeared to dead end, but somebody told me they go into the water jacket. Is that true on a 360 magnum block?

[WANTED] shift and kickdown levers for A904

I sold my slant six and A904, but duh, I forgot to remove the shift and kickdown levers. Does anyone have these? See pic below. They are mopar part numbers 21-142-12 and 21-142-18. I tried the NOS folks and Ebay...no luck. Brian

360 magnum flex plate to A904 torque converter

I bolted it up, it doesn't appear to be touching the torque converter, but I would need a feeler gauge to figure out just how close it is.

360 magnum flex plate to A904 torque converter

OK, I haven't actually put the bolts in yet, just checked the set back. Just wondering, it looked like it'll touch, but I'll find out when I tighten the bolts.

360 magnum flex plate to A904 torque converter

Question: when the magnum flex plate is bolted to the torque converter, should the edge of the outer rim touch the torque converter or does it make contact only on the bolt mounting pads?

    TTI header woes

Hey, there are a few places where I'm gonna need to make a dent in the header for fitment. It has the ceramic coating, has anyone done this successfully or does it totally screw the coating? heat first help?

    TTI header woes

I'm installing a 360 magnum in my '67 dart and I'm using TTi shorty headers. No issues whatsoever on the passenger side, but yes on the driver side the collector interferes with the brake proportioning valve. I'm gonna have to reconfigure that valve...

    360 dipstick length

This thread is great to confirm my LA 360 dipstick I plan to use on my 360 Magnum is the right dimensions. Question though, I bought a new one and the tube is dead straight, so when put into the block it will obviously interfere with the fuel pump. These tubes are typically bent a bit down...

Are all 5.9 Magnum flex plates the same? 904 install issues.

Yep, got it. I just misread the magnum swap description...I have a 5.9 magnum weighted flex plate and a neutral balance converter.

Are all 5.9 Magnum flex plates the same? 904 install issues.

You can't use the B&M flexplate on a magnum, different external balancing than LA 360. If you're experience is different, let me know.

3 ohm vs 1.5 ohm ignition coil

I spoke with Pertronix, they indeed recommend a 1.5 ohm coil for V8 applications...though I could not get them to opine specifically on the mopar orange box in that regard. I do recall someone on the slant six boards telling me years ago that if I'm removing my ballast resistor (which I did)...

3 ohm vs 1.5 ohm ignition coil

OK, so I think that is suggesting that certain ECU's must have at least 1.4 ohms of resistance in the ignition coil or they'll burn out. I've read a number of articles since I posted, and I believe I'm OK with the 3 ohm coil, it just may put out a less hot spark. One post on Slantsix boards...

360 Magnum flex plate mod question

I heated it and punched it down, seems fine, no other warpage noted. I wanted to stick with the wider head bolts as I assume they will grip better.

360 Magnum flex plate mod question

I understand that one must modify one of the bolt holes in the 360 magnum flex plate to fit the bolt pattern of an A904 torque converter. As the picture below from one of the tutorials describes, one just uses a rat tail file to open up the one of the holes that doesn't align. So I did that...

3 ohm vs 1.5 ohm ignition coil

Yes, thank you, I'm aware that the GM HEI system is superior, I've seen the testing and so forth on slant six forum, great stuff. So, do you know why 3 ohms would be specified for 4 and 6 cylinders and lower resistance for v8's? That's the part I don't get. Why would one not want more spark...
