1968 Barracuda Notch - Plano, TX

The white LEDs do look sharper. Congratulations on the meticulous work, as usual. I had the Dakota Digital RTX guages in my 70 Roadrunner, with so many color combinations of needles, backlight, etc I couldn't list them all. Regarding color, RED at night makes for better night vision for...

That's really considerate of her.. In this picture, is what appears to be a vertical tube I have indicated w/the yellow curly brace a fluid level indicator? If so, that's really handy!

So... Your awesome custom build and layout uses "common Auto Parts Stores' over-the-counter parts"...Excellent! Easy goin'!!:poke::lol: (although it requires a number of different manufacturers, models, and years to get them) The belt may be the most challenging part to get in the...

N²O timing, 2-step LAUNCH CONTROL, DATA LOGGING now w/Progression Ignition

That is something I thought would be a good idea to get the required FULL POWER to the unit as the installation manual demands. Can you provide details on that part of your installation? I have a couple of relays I installed for other high draw electrical items, like my 2 SPAL fans, but how you...

N²O timing, 2-step LAUNCH CONTROL, DATA LOGGING now w/Progression Ignition

Thank you for the kind comments. There are a few things in life that REALLY ARE TRULY EXCEPTIONAL in one or more ways, and the rarity of discovering them, appreciating the outstanding traits or qualities, having a need or desire (or both) for one of life's jewels, and the ultimate: being able...

N²O timing, 2-step LAUNCH CONTROL, DATA LOGGING now w/Progression Ignition

In January of 2022 I was ready to buy the new smaller diameter billet aluminum distributor from Progression. I was concerned the original unit would require clearancing on TrickFlow heads and fabbed aluminum valve covers. I have always been amazed by the capabilities of the Progression Ignition...

    best racing ign system.

THE best ignition system for any carbureated engine, ever... They have added a "racing" package of capabilities that are quite impressive. Nitrous timing retard, 2-step RPM limited LAUNCH CONTROL and DATA LOGGING. BOOST timing compensation has been part of the system for years.

1968 Barracuda Notch - Plano, TX

I have Dakota Digital gauge clusters in both the 65 GTO and my 70 Roadrunner. There were speedo cable clearance issues in the GTO, so I used the DD version of that same device, a GPS based speedometer that converts data to mechanical rotation of the speedometer cable. Works great!

    572 RB Street motor advice?

I looked at that MSD 7531, very trick piece! Well, I am going to use the new version (smaller diameter billet aluminum distributor) of the Progression Ignition system. If you aren't familiar with it, the advance is fully programmable in small increments via phone app. It also has vacuum advance...

If you could pick one car show to attend....

Glad to hear that! I may be mixing up your reply "Mopars in the Park"...Are you talking about that event or are you referring to the Thursday Mopar event at Cruisin the Coast? That is "Mopars in Da Bay" although it looks like a park, and it's just near the water, but in Bay Saint Louis. Lol.

    572 RB Street motor advice?

That makes me feel better. I don't know how you are doing that on a 275, but I may lean on you for help once I get the 572 in and I've at least made a video or 2 and tried some of my many traction aids, made adjustments, made an effort.... I'd like to have enough tire/wheel width...

If you could pick one car show to attend....

Late to seeing this thread, but Cruisin the Coast in October is a MUST! I live about 45 minutes west from the western end of CtC which goes from Bay Saint Louis MS on the west end to Ocean Springs on the easternmost end. Always early October, usually from the first Sunday thru the following...

    572 RB Street motor advice?

@beepbeep46 Here's the last thing I'll post unless you or anyone else has any questions. This is my "overly detailed but hey, I can't help myself" signature that covers a lot of the details of parts and systems in my 70 Roadrunner. I will thank God when I find the time and a few $20 bills on...

    572 RB Street motor advice?

IF I were to know how far I was going with the stroker 2 years ago, I probably wouldn't have let "the forum" talk me out of the GERST or RMS triangulated 4 link that I was intent upon getting. I know there are 9 second cars on leaf springs, and I like the Calvert split mono leaf springs and...

    572 RB Street motor advice?

Before I write about any "car stuff", I am sincerely sorry to hear about those who you have lost. I know of at least one person in my group of friends who was said to have died from COVID-19, but like so many, she had other health problems. You are resilient to be posting here, I encourage that...

    572 RB Street motor advice?

Hey, I am on FBBO 95% of the time, 70 V-code Roadrunner w/a 71 block with 6bbl rods and crank, 292°/.509 cam, 1⅞" TTi headers, manual transmission, Dana 60, yada yada.. I'm having Southeastern Performance do a 572 build for me, with similar intentions regarding use. Local car shows, out of town...

How Do You Feel Upon Rising in the Morning?

Cruisin the Coast week was rough for me. I have had to do work on both the 65 Tripower 421 GTO and my 70 V-code Roadrunner before and sometimes into the week long event, usually because of last minute updates to "show off" for the 7 day, huge event. This year, after 4 or 5 years of running great...

    Dragweek 2021

I see there is "concern about the closure of Memphis International Raceway". That caught my attention especially because my wife (a 1320 'enthusiast' and occasional participant in her 1965 421 Tripower GTO) and I took the trip there from South Louisiana for a Street Outlaws No Prep Kings event 4...

    Dragweek 2021

@Walker434 I got linked to this thread by a FBBO member. I'm having a Bill Mitchell aluminum RB block built into a 572 stroker and I'm going to start with it topped with my Promax modded 6bbl Holley carbs and the Indy ModMan single plane intake for my 70 V-code Roadrunner. I was expressing...

    Line Lock- Quality?

With a manual transmission, going without a line lock AND having enough power to need a well heated and "cleaned" tire makes it difficult. I've tried just spinning and that doesn't impart enough heat, and doing the two foot, 3 pedal boogie is just too difficult.

    Line Lock- Quality?

I would "guess" that any water contamination in the brake fluid could rust the solenoid and/or block orifice(s) with "chunks" of solids or precipitates.

    Line Lock- Quality?

I've read "Biondo" in at least 3 posts in this thread, all good comments. I haven't heard of Biondo, ever, but obviously that's my lack of experience. I don't remember who made my line lock, but I know it's nothing "special". I've had it installed for a year and a half, but unfortunately no time...

    $3k Drag Challenge - A-body vs B-body

You've been doing research, so this is just an off the cuff thought. It would seem like a (used?) Nitrous system, numerically high gears (1/8th mile race) and traction would be the best value for winning. Another factor is the nitrous can hit at the start, whereas the turbo has to build boost...

    Hydraulic throwout bearing questions

100% better than the manual setup, but make sure to check for flex in the firewall, even better, do whatever you need to prevent it ahead of time. I got the American Powertrain kit, but if you check with Brewer's, tell them what you have, mention concern about firewall flex, and I'm sure they'll...

67 GTS 4-Speed: Daily Summer Driver

383 engines need to breathe and really do well if they can turn some RPMs. Bolt ons, 750 CFM carb, a good solid lift cam, and stronger hardware (rod bolts) with a 3.90 or 4.10 ring and pinion gearset and watch out! My friend did less than those mods on his Pistol Grip 4 speed 383 70 Roadrunner...

1968 Barracuda Notch - Plano, TX

@mosleyme Since my last few posts here and there on FABO I have ordered and paid for my rotating assembly, and since the (paid in full, yeah!) Bill Mitchell aluminum RB block (4.49 bore) doesn't require clearancing for a 4.5" stroke, and the builder recommended an external oil pickup anyway...

    A855 - 5 Speed

One important thing I don't see in any of the posts about torque relative to a transmission is the effect of the pressure plate and flywheel. There was an excellent post by weedburner aka Grant, the man who makes and sells the Clutch Tamer and HitMaster "launch control" products for manual...
