Coronet steering box in a Duster?

Found a ‘66 Coronet parts car with a manual steering box. Are they the same as the A body boxes? Any way it’d work in a ‘73 Duster factory power steering car? I believe I’d also need the steering coupler as well, right? Thanks!

‘73 Duster Upper Cam Bolt Confusion

Just did the PST disc brake kit on my ‘73 duster. Got the cam bolts in, and the lobes are somewhat adjusted. I’m assuming when I take it in for an alignment, they’ll be able to adjust the cam bolts in conjunction with the rest of the stuff underneath? Also, how tight do the bolts need to be? I...

    '73 Duster Budget Barebones Re-Wire!

Yeah, that's a steal! It would be nice to have the option, and you bring up a good point about selling the car. I'm hoping that with the way everything is clearly labeled, it won't be too much of a headache to get it done. I'm pretty intimidated by wires, but I'm hoping this will be a perfect...

    '73 Duster Budget Barebones Re-Wire!

First off, I'll admit; I am absolutely terrible when it comes to wiring! My '73 Duster is a factory /6 auto car, and the previous owner butchered the wiring pretty bad, from front to back the factory harness is pretty far gone. I reckon it'd be a good learning experience to start from the ground...

    ‘73 Duster Rear End Options!

Thanks for the information! After doing a bit more research on the 8.8's out of the Explorers, I'm really considering taking that route! Found a few at a local pull-a-part for around $100, with 3.73s and disc brakes. Shortening it up shouldn't be too much of a chore, don't mind a bit of...

    ‘73 Duster Rear End Options!

So, I’ve been a bit confused lately about the rear ends in A bodies. I’ve got a ‘73 Duster with a 7.25” rear end, and I want to upgrade. I’m not seeing a ton of options, besides maybe finding an A body 8.75” and bolting that in. I also couldn’t justify dropping $3k+ on a new rear end. I’ve read...

    ‘73 Duster /6 to 318 Swap

I checked out the Dougs headers, think I’ll shoot for those. Thank you for the info! It’s about time I got to work on this car, been putting it off for too long!

    ‘73 Duster /6 to 318 Swap

Ah, okay. In that case, I’ll just go the 727 route! As far as the exhaust goes, I’d like to find a nice set of headers, maybe some kind of cool side-exit exhaust, I dunno. Surely mounting an aftermarket aluminum rad wouldn’t be too hard?

    ‘73 Duster /6 to 318 Swap

Thank you for the information! I’ll be looking at the motor today, and I think the guy also has a good 727 as well. I’ll check out Lokar while I’m at it! Alternatively, would the 904 have to be a v8 transmission, exclusively? I didn’t figure the slant 904 would bolt up, is there any way that’s...

    ‘73 Duster /6 to 318 Swap

Thanks for the reply! And yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Swap the rear end now and not have to do anything further to the driveshaft.

Thanks for that! Tons of good info and reference!

    ‘73 Duster /6 to 318 Swap

Thanks for the info! I reckon I’ll just find a v8 K-frame, shouldn’t be too hard to find. Also, the car does have a 7.25 rear end, I’ll find a good 8.75 to go in place of it.

    ‘73 Duster /6 to 318 Swap

Hi everyone, So, I’ve got a ‘73 Duster with a 225 /6 and 904 trans. I’m going to look at a nice 318 LA tomorrow and I’m planning on sticking a 727 in place of the 904. From what I’ve read, the Schumacher swap mounts are the easiest route, and require the least amount of work to the K-frame...
