    Hurst Super Shifter

Thanks for the pics! I can see it sits a lot lower , my exact worries. I'm wondering if I could use a slightly longer straight hurst handle with the setup.

    Hurst Super Shifter

Exactly!! The handle seems really short and like I would have to lean down to grab it. Not sure what I want to do.

    Hurst Super Shifter

Is a RAMROD streetable , downshifting etc. with an 833?

    Hurst Super Shifter

Awesome thank you!! Do you have any pics you can post? Also , if I use the short handle that comes with the shifter , would I have to reach down for the handle?

    Hurst Super Shifter

I currently have a console with a Hurst factory squiggly shifter in my 67 dart. I'm looking into removing the console and putting a Hurst Super Shifter with the reverse lockout in its place. I have a few concerns. First of all , if it states that it's an A body shifter , do they fit properly as...

    Which Water pump?

It isn't, im asking because Just heard good reviews about it and was considering it.

    Which Water pump?

    Better than edelbrock victor?
  9. 67_Slimer

    Which Water pump?

It's the 70 and up aluminum pump. Sorry for not including that.

    Which Water pump?

This winter project includes my cooling system. New hoses , thermostat, flush out the radiator and block , new water pump. My questions are 1) what pump do you recommend based on your experience? I'm looking into the edelbrock victor, but not sure if it's overkill. Car is low geared 4 speed...

    Aftermarket gears?

it literally feels like I'm getting rearended by a locomotive when i dump the clutch. Easiest way to explain it. So keeping my PP , what disc do you recommend? street driving but I want to rip it occasionally without it slipping.

    Aftermarket gears?

Haven't run the car in years. It's basically a street car now but might get to the track next season. Can't really afford the race anymore or risk breaking However , I don't remember all the details but it was a 12.20 car with cast iron 2.02 heads (before the eddys were on) Definitely felt a...

    Aftermarket gears?

OK , I get it , my clutch is "junk" , but it was fine for 22 years previously of power shifting , racing etc. The only other factor was I had 2 heavy passengers when I smoked 3rd gear. 500 lbs extra will do that. . I'll be fine , if not , then I'll deal with it. The car made MANY passes down the...

    Aftermarket gears?

Problem is, I can't find any company that makes them.

    Aftermarket gears?

I've been dealing with it for many years. It's my passion HaHa

    Aftermarket gears?

I use synthetic in my Dana and my motor but not in my tranny.
  17. 67_Slimer

    Aftermarket gears?

So is there any options on stronger gears to put in my 833?
  18. 67_Slimer

    Aftermarket gears?

I'm told I have a "crappy" clutch but it hits like I'm getting hit by a freight train. I only destroyed 3rd gear because I had 2 passengers in the car that weren't exactly small. I'm going to leave the clutch and PP as is and build up the tranny (hence why I asked if they make stronger gears)...

    Aftermarket gears?

I'm very confused and sense some tension lol

    Aftermarket gears?

Says who? Actually had Sta-Lube in there but powershifting at 6500 with a paddle disc is most likely the reason.
  21. 67_Slimer

    Aftermarket gears?

Well , I'm sure the gears being about 50 years old didn't help either LOL
  22. 67_Slimer

    Aftermarket gears?

I'm rebuilding my 833 4 speed after destroying 3rd gear. I was wondering if there are any companies such as Liberty or similar that make gears that are stronger than say a stock replkacement? I can't seem to find anything so I figured I'd ask around before I ordered a set. Thank you.

    Which spacer is best?

I have a six pack hood so clearance shouldn't be an issue.
  24. 67_Slimer

    Which spacer is best?

So I'm contemplating running a carburetor spacer and have some questions. I have a 340 stock stroke , 10.5/1 , .525 solid cam with 1.6 RR , Eddy aluminum heads , Victor intake with a brawler 750 , 4 speed and 4.56s. I've had numerous people suggest a carb spacer. 1) Are they even worth it? Do...

    Intake upgrade?

    I'm building a standard stroke 340 , maybe 3500 - 7000 rpm. 11.5/1 solid roller , should I just keep my regular victor?
  26. 67_Slimer

    Intake upgrade?

So I have a 340 , .030 over , 10.5/1 , .525 solid flat Cam , eddy heads with 1.6 RRs , Victor intake , 750 Brawler , 4 speed and 4.56s. It's mainly driven on the street and have some fun. I am planning on building another 340 in a year or 2 that will be more aggressive. I have an opportunity to...

    Gear choice decisions

So , do they handle the same abuse as the 4 speed? Same exact dimensions?
  28. 67_Slimer

    Gear choice decisions

Thank you for the input and research , seriously thats awesome and means a lot to me but I occasionally drag race the car and want the 4 speed. The dana , you can call it "overkill" but after 2 grenaded 8 3/4 rears (one with strange axles/spool) I call it , peace of mind lol. Very aggressive...

    Gear choice decisions

Thanks!! just did that. it will save me about 350 RPM

    Gear choice decisions

So I have a 340/4 speed/dana setup in my 67 dart. Street/strip car but now its pretty much a street car. Even though it's not raced anymore (Maybe at nostalgia day) I still love steep gears and refuse to get rid of them. Old school ways I guess. My current ratio is 4.56 with a 27 inch tire...
