Shift shaft is not in the best shape for sure, especially for a "sealing" surface. Not surprised I'm changing this seal. It seems to me like some original coating is gone and I'm not sure if it will "dress up" to my own satisfaction, But I'll try, can't hurt it, maybe it'll polish up for a good...

Quick question, is the shift shaft seal the same for both, 727/904 transmissions? I'm on the rock auto link shared above and can't find a specific for a 904, just one for the 727... maybe I'm missin something?

Would it be possible to get a couple part numbers for these seals? I ordered one already for my 74 a904 and I received a speedo gear shaft seal instead....
