63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

Hi, a little update is always nice;) I got the body/tub in primer with a couple coats of high build, then pulled out the rest of the body bolt ons, re-epoxied the support for the decklid. Also bought a slant 6 engine lift plate off of ebay~ excited to make some progress! ;)

63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

Change of plans~ traded the 318/904 for the slant 6 out of a '75 Duster. The slant sounds intriguing and I'd like to make it look nice;) The fella took it out of his duster, drove 6 hours and we swapped. Really nice guy;) Had some scrap steel and made a little cart to move it around.

    An Orion transmission?

Hi, I bought this transmission mainly for the bell housing to put my slant 6 on my engine run stand. the transmission was in a mid-late 80's dodge truck(maybe) originally was on the column shift but converted to a floor shift. So, I say, well, could I use it just for conversation? It's very...

63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

Here I have my 318 running (it is a used engine, 150psi on each cylinder, oil pressure 50-60) on my engine run stand, runs good, a few days later I installed the valve covers having had to wait for gaskets. I ran it hard, did good. I do need to install a rear main seal, this is a time I was...

    Console placement

Hi, I bought a factory console for my 63 Dart, I was going to go manual trans, but changed my mind. I already have an A-904. I saw somewhere where a Promatic shifter will work with this console...

63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

Loaded the tub/body, ready for blasting. After the cold spell I can get this over to em. Blaster is less than a mile from our home. Spoke with Glen for a while today, regarding A 833s and other things, now I'm having second thoughts and just going with the 904 that I have, and a nice factory...

Hi, this is Dne', Glen was saying that you have a wiper assembly and possibly the bracket for under the dash? I have a '63 Dart and I'm modifying the firewall to reduce the wiper motor bump. Just checking in with you~ dne'...

63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

Hey Glen. Are you home yet! From your pic, I think I could make that bracket, that’s a good pic;) right now we’re in Philly, we’ll be back Tuesday. I’m probably going to take a break from the engine and get started on the main body, having it blasted. Can’t wait to get home;)

63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

Thank you, I'd be picking one or the other to have overhauled. I'm thinking the one out of the '73 Challenger might be the better choice due to less smog? and would like not to have the funny heads from the '76, or does that make a bit of difference?

63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

Hi, I went to do a leak down test on my newest 318 (block casting 4006730-318-12) (1976-1979 LA) from the '76 Valiant, #8 cylinder at TDC leaks badly from the intake. I've tried tapping it to seat it, but didn't do anything. Every cylinder there is air leakage from the oil pan/cam. It's faint...

Those are nice, but I'm a long way from wanting/needing headers~ I appreciate you thinking about me;)

63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

Well heck, I went ahead and pulled the intake to clean it up, blasted, washed, blown, painted, then clear coated. posted for future reference;) https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/threads/plugging-smog-holes-in-heads.395775/

63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

Yes, I had sold that project to help pay for my Bronco project~ I hated to sell the CJ, it ran so well, so strong! I still have the '72 Bronco as I have my heart and soul in it, and most of my retirement! lol

63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

Then, I took some time, which I have plenty of, I had blasted the original intake from the first engine, and decided to pretty it up, even if I don't use it. Clear coated with high heat clear to boot!;) From my '68 CJ5 restoration a few years ago, a most perfect resto;) I Love that diesel...

63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

Good morning Glen;) I trust your trip went well and made lots of memories;) I've discovered that it will be easiest upon installation(some day) for me to put the leaf springs on my stand, then axle. Then I would install as an assembly by just lowering the dart down onto the assembly. That...

63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

Sorry nothing exciting going on yet, but today I removed the rear axle, but made a rolling stand for it;) Then a rather large jet flew over! snagged a pic;)
