    Bushing sleeve

Yeah, when I took the "Harris" ones back out I did not notice any adhesive on the rubber. She said those ones were original manufacture so maybe they are NOS and the rubber is just ancient... I don't know. The ID on the new ones they sent are clearly off. Even my cheap/crappy calipers show...

    Bushing sleeve

The saga continues. They sent me replacement bushings (McQuay-Norris) and I’m seeing the issue that some of you have described where the sleeve ID is too big. The pin just slips in and out, Not a press fit. Ho-hum. I ordered the pro-forged as it seems some people on here have had good luck with...

    Bushing sleeve

My thoughts exactly. More pics after removal. I don’t think they provide any other useful information other than showing the sleeves do indeed appear to be coming out. To your knowledge is there any adhesive that aids in keeping the sleeve in there? Or is it just a squeezing force?

P.S. box rebuild FirmFeel or Steer & Gear?

Well, they waited too long and I had too much time to think about it... I ended up cancelling my order. I'm going to go with the Borgeson.

    Bushing sleeve

I'm using rubber ones. ESPO said they use two manufacturers. Harris, which is supposed to actually be the original manufacturer. And McQuay-Norris. I have no idea where they are manufactured but as we found out during Covid, the U.S. has virutually no domestic manufacturing anymore for most...

    Bushing sleeve

I'm guessing its something I did wrong... if I torqued the pins after everything was on the ground and close to ride height, it seems to me the only thing that could be pushing the opposite direction is the strut bar. They are just stock bars with one piece bushings. Maybe I torqued the pins...

    Bushing sleeve

Honestly, I don' think that would cause it. The issue is the sleeve separating from the rubber....

    Bushing sleeve

Bushings are from ESPO. I did the installation. Torsion bars are PST, fully in with locking tabs. The strut rods are torqued on both ends with roll pin in…. It will take me a couple of days but I guess I’ll tear it back apart. They were installed by a moron but I can't think of anything the...

    Bushing sleeve

Brand new rubber bushing installed. I haven’t driven the car yet. I removed the steering box and noticed that it seems the sleeve is already pulling out of the bushing. Has anyone seen this before? I waited to torque the LCA’s until I had it on the ground. Can’t think of anything else I could...

    Not that important

Is there anyway (just by looking at the backing plate) to tell what year the brake plate came from? I don't see any numbers on it... The wheel cylinders seem like they are from 73 and newer but the drums and shoes are 2.25" which would indicate earlier.... Not sure any of it really matters...

    Not that important

Thanks for the pics. My wheel cylinders don't look like either of those. I think my brakes must be out of a later year car. Thank you.

    Not that important

Just a point of curiosity... my 69 dart GT has 10" front brakes. The hoses are for 9" brake set up though. I have the short hard lines on the back of my brake plates and the female/female brake hoses like a 9" set up. I just noticed when ordering hoses I have to order 9" hoses even though I...

    Mount caster/camber gauge

In case I can find an adapter, I measured the spindle to be 3/4" -16. Does that sound right?

    Mount caster/camber gauge

This may be the best option. Its bigger than I wanted to store, but I really don't want to have to store two wheels and tires either. I found the diameter of the magnetic adapters, it is bigger than my wheel centers so it won't fit. Thank you!

    Mount caster/camber gauge

Hmmm. I reall don't want to store extra wheels and tires.... Do you reccomend that gauge or were you just citing it as an example?

    Mount caster/camber gauge

I know this is a long shot but has anyone used one of the caster/camber gauges with Cragar SS wheels? Before I pull the trigger and buy one I was wondering if the magentic adapter they come with fits in the center hole and sticks on the grease cap.... They don't tell you the diameter of the...

    Inner rust

I know how to sharpen convex body lines with tape. How did you sharpen the concave line? The concave line that runs about 1.5" under the body line? The body line in front of my wheel well is beat to crap and the concave section has almost been wiped out. There isn't much access to the back...

    moog problem solvers creating problems....

I finally got mine in. I also had to use some persuasion. Forcing in a suspension components seemed odd to me but it seems you guys all had to do the same so hopefully it will be ok. I suppose the test drive will be the judge.

    moog problem solvers creating problems....

It’s date night so no beer, Margaritas…. What is a big all 16ths?? It’s the washers/ferrels. Two of them just have way more crown than the others so they stick out further.

That’s helpful. Thanks. Yep, one of mine is wider than the other three.

I’m calling it. Its off by a full quarter inch. This isn’t going to just be a little tappy tapper with a hammer. I’m going to try another bushing.

    moog problem solvers creating problems....

I did not do all that but I did press the washers in with a ball joint press. They seemed to be fully seated to me. I may try again.

Yes, three or four times I tried. Seems like they are all the way on but there's really no way to tell. I'll give it another shot.

If you leave it off, they are loosey goosey... Maybe just leave the inside one on? Without the ferrels they are much narrower than the stock bushings.

    moog problem solvers creating problems....

Anyone else experience this? I installed the K7103's and now my UCA doesn't fit. The bushings are fully seated and I've tried to squish the ferrels on tighter but no luck.... Anyone have any fixes for this?

Front end rebuild....buy new or rebuild?

I will say this, the quality of the moog k7103 leave a lot to be desired. I got the stock bushings from ESPO and there is just no comparison, they just look put together so much better. Plus the K7103's have the ferrels that you have to press in. Can't even tell when they are fully pressed in....
