    ~450hp from stock stroke 340?

The car was ~3200 lbs w/ driver, tracks around 1000' elevation.

Changing crankshaft bearings with the engine in the car.

If you're hearing rattling down low it's more likely rod bearings than mains, so if you're in there change both. It can be done in car and it's fun!.....well, minus the fun part. Regardless, 20W-50 should improve the issues without turning a wrench :)

    ~450hp from stock stroke 340?

Gonna be tough to make 450 hp n/a without more compression ratio. I have an about 450 hp 340+.030, but I wouldn't call it streetable. Never dynoed, but the various calculators put it at somewhere between 430-465 hp. 12.2:1 forged pistons, .585/275°@.050 solid cam, 1.5 rockers, decently ported...

CHEVY GUYS GET CAUGHT CHEATING AT INDY

I dislike Erica Enders for the same reason - she badmouthed Dodges because Elite couldn't figure out how to make them run.

CHEVY GUYS GET CAUGHT CHEATING AT INDY

While announcers make much of the "classic Chevy vs. Ford battle," the fact is the early days of Stock and Super Stock it was much more often a Mopar vs. Ford battle. I've watched the Chevy favoritism over the decades and can only say that despite NHRA's bias against anything not Chevrolet...

    Anyone see this yet?

Yeah, the Euros have bought into the climate change hoax hook, line and sinker. And a certain party in the US is just as gullible. Elections have consequences. Do your research and think hard before pulling that lever.

    So how sad is this

I listen to it loud too, but maybe that's because my hearing isn't what it used to be after years around race cars and very loud concerts. Deep Purple in the '70s comes to mind. :D My son and I went to a Rush concert in 201X and I guess I'm not too old because it was not too loud! Jokes aside...

    Spare parts prices

Tell me about it! I bought a high end refrigerator in the mid '90s, about $3,500 in 1990s money. When it broke down I called an appliance repairman who deemed it not repairable and told me I was lucky to get 15 years out of it...most only last 10. Meanwhile, my mom had a refrigerator in her...

    Spare parts prices

Ironic isn't it? That manufacturers all want to claim how "green" they are, yet their products are made to be disposable. Disposable products fill landfills....that's hardly being green. Apparently they don't comprehend that repairing to prolong product life is greener than recycling, since not...

    Valve spring compressor......what's everyone use?

I see you already have something, but a couple things I built in the 1980s when I was racing a lot .... This is small block Mopar only but could be adapted to BB Mopar. Not the best design but works well with heads on. Shaft is solid and handle is about 18" long so plenty strong for heavy valve...

    So how sad is this

Not meaning to offend, I've always thought country music was rock, twenty years late. To me country from the '90s, sounds like pop rock of the '70s as far as the instrument and vocal styles go, and through the decades country seems to shadow rock by twenty years. Just my perception, and I...

How old are you and how long have you raced

Funny thing is if you look in the background of the "Sonic" photo, my neighbor had one in nearly the same color as my current ride!

How old are you and how long have you raced

Just turned 69, but age is only a number! I'm thankful to have health and finances to be able to do this. I'll admit to some street racing in my late teens, but after losing too many friends I went straight... to the drag strip that is. First race ever was at Thompson Drag Raceway with a buddy...

What is the green light for on the rear of NHRA Pro stock cars?

I think only a couple of years. Deric Kramer was the first to use one, now a few others have them.

What is the green light for on the rear of NHRA Pro stock cars?

It actually goes beyond that. They position video to capture the tree and the green light on the bumper. The green light goes off when the driver launches the car (lets out the clutch or releases a line lne-loc). They later slow the video way down and see how long it took the car to move off the...

    Stock location or remote?

Putting a 440 in a '73 Dart Sport that was set up for a RB. Will be using an external line oil pickup to the pump. Is it possible to use the stock filter adapter, or should I go remote? Also, car is equipped with a motor plate, not stock type block mounts.

Old new guy, or is it new old guy?

Hi All, I've been a member at For E-Bodies Only for quite a while since that's what I have. I've been to FABO many times and found tons of good info here. The family racing stable recently got a new addition - my son's 1973 Dart Sport drag car with full cage, frame ties, fiberglass front end...
