Heater core for 1968 Dodge Dart

Has anyone found the correct Heater core for a 1968 Dodge Dart? The correct part has a 5/8 inlet and a 5/8 outlet. I ordered the correct part from Jegs but when it came it had a 5/8 and 1/2 fitting which is for a 1970 or newer. Jegs said they could not get the correct part, discontinued I guess...

    340 or 408?

I am another big fan of the 340. It is an amazing engine, well designed and very adaptable to upgrades. The 1970 340 should have a steel crank and rods. I believe you can stretch 2HP per C.I. if you really want to get extreme. The 275 HP rating is net HP and not gross so you are already around...

    Winter will soon return :(

Reminds me of why I moved south. While I lived in Michigan I used a snow shovel most of the time, its good exercise during those inactive months and months and months of winter, ok, maybe not really that bad, but eventually I bought a snow blower during an exceptionally white winter. Put on the...

oil pan for 440 in a 1968 Dart

The new pan arrived today. It is the Mancini Hemi pan that a couple of you suggested (Thank you) looks like plenty of space from the K frame to the sump and also plenty of room behind for center link. The old pump pickup also fits. Thanks for the input. Mopar to ya !

oil pan for 440 in a 1968 Dart

Thanks again for all the help. yea...that K frame may not be original but its been there for 40+ years with that 440 and the only issue is the oil pan clearance. The fender well headers are close fit but functional. Look at the old pan damage and the bolt holes in the pan to see that the sump...

oil pan for 440 in a 1968 Dart

Thanks for all the help! I will try to make this work with the existing K frame. I am prepping the engine compartment for paint and will also repaint the K frame and mounts, that will hide all the " mess " (yes I know) I ordered a pan I think will work from Mancini and I will update this post...

oil pan for 440 in a 1968 Dart

I am rebuilding a 1969 440 that was put into this 1968 Dart. The oil pan that was in the car shows a lot of damage from hitting on the K frame. I am not sure this is the original 383 K frame as the drivers side motor mount has been relocated. I am trying to find a new oil pan and pickup that...

    Ring compressor

Thanks for the input. Think I will order the aluminum one from Summit, at least it is made in the USA. It is sure getting hard to find parts still made here! I am willing to pay more for that

    Ring compressor

I read the reviews on several ring compressors and the biggest complaint was they are cheap and dont survive a rebuild. Any suggestions on a reliable RC that will fit my 440 + .030 and also fit my 340 which is next years project and I am on somewhat of a budget. wife is getting whinny...

    Hello fellow Mopar lovers

Thanks for the warm welcome. My Duster is currently in storage but i will try to find some pictures. About 10 years ago I committed a GREAT sin and sold my 1967 Barracuda S, an original 383 precious baby that I greatly miss. This year I bought this 1968 Dart GTS, also an original 383 precious...
