    crank upside down

I like everyboy's suggestions to remedy my upside-down crank. I think I'll first flip the car on it's top then the crank will be right side up. However, I have come to the conclusion that then the tires would be up in the air and I wouldn't get much traction, yet we are expecting snow this...

the holes I put the crank in were real real tight and the holes I put the cam in were real real loose (shuved in a bunch of shop towels to take up the slack) but the rods rattle a whole bunch. I have a jam-up and jelly-tight 340 duster that I'm about to unlease on the universe, but first I have this oil pan question, which is this; does this engine have the same oil pan as 318?. It seems as though the sump pickup is about 3/4" deeper than the pan so it won't fit horizontal on the...

    milk chocolate oil

after cranking the new engine, I thought it would be a good idea to cahnge out the oil. When I drained it , it loookd like milk chocolate ( no I didn't try to drink it, or put milk chocolate it the engine to start) . Could the moly grease I used to build the engine cause it to have this color?

I'm not getting oil up to the topside valve train after priming the pump with the tool/drill thing and turning the engine over at the same tme for about 5 minutes. oil pressure, I'm still buffaloed

Where is this #5 plug you're talking about. Do you mean the rear main cap/oil seal area? I assume you need to drop the pan to see it. I have a 72 shop manual but I'll be jiggered if I can find a diagram where all the internal oil galley plugs are. To answer your question an "experienced" machine...

    oil pressure, I'm still buffaloed

Yes, filter was full, and when we took the adapter off and spun the drill, plenty of oil came gushing out. Makes me think oil is somehow not getting through the adapter or I am not being patient enough to alllow drill time to get to the topside.
