    i have a 383 duster, just got it running, and am putting it together for a street car. i take it there are no exhaust kits for this setup? what are you all running on street cars with fender well headers? this car will not be a daily driver by any means, but it would be nice to cruise down...

    Alright, I got off a little early today and decided to get a head start. I was happy to get the front end pulled off without having to remove the radiator/fluid. The crank sprocket was installed on the square slot, not the circle. I have everything lined up and feel confident no contact...

    looking at your crank gear, there are 2 grooves for the slot on the shaft....is it possible that the gear is on wrong making the timing off? if so how do I know which is the correct slot

    so when i pull the cover, i need to make sure they are 12 on crank and 6 on cam right?

    would the piston at TDC have both valves closed regardless of the stroke?

    unfortunately i just checked the engine at TDC and the exhaust valve is pushed down.... makes sense why there would be no compression. wednesday i am off an pulling timing chain cover..what could have happened to the motor while trying to crank with cam in wrong? if it is off by a small amount...

    i did this earlier to see if a rocker was not moving...everything is moving so i assume cam is ok....how could it be out of time?

    no compression on #2 cylinder either....only sucking on my finger....i will still buy a compression tool but an sure it is not compressing air. I do not believe i can adjust my valves....hydraulic FT cam, and stock rockers.... the heads are 440 source stealths...stock length pushrods...484...

    im crossing connections at the starter relay with screwdriver just to bump the motor over....

    going to buy a compression tool tomorrow.....why would it pull air in but not blow out....could a valve not be closing?

    it is getting spark, and as for fuel i am seeing gas squirt into the intake when i move the throttle....also wouldnt it fire with priming fluid/gas poured into the intake?
