Unbelievable frustraion at "No Auto Parts Available"

On the torsion bar tool, that one's so specialized, it's hardly a fair test. I had borrowed one from a friend, and left it sitting on my counter at the parts store where I work for almost two weeks. Nobody figured out what it was for. None of the employees, not a single mechanic, or any of...

how rare are power Brakes ?

My cars were around 50/50. 66 Dart(Canadian Valiant) was power drum, 68 Dart 270 power drum, 72 Demon manual drum, and my current 70 Duster started life with manual KH disc brakes. I also had a 65 Fury II wagon with a manual single pot master cylinder and 11" drums all around...

"How the heck did that happen?" Injuries

For me, once the air cleaner is off, it's just a matter of time before the air cleaner stud bites me on the wrist.

    I'm Discombobulated?

Looks like it started life as a 76 Duster, got a 73 rear bumper and a 72 Dart/Demon front end. Surprised he isn't selling it as a Demon.

    rear end lube question

Isn't the friction modifier only for clutch type suregrips? To cure chattering frictions? I was told not to use it with my cone suregrip because it could cause slippage. I've never added it and never had any issues.

    Mini Sarter Help

There is a 9 tooth direct-drive Prestolite starter listed for some 170 and 225s for 61-63. It's not one I've ever seen before. It looks very 50's, if you know what I mean. They don't list any "can-use" options, so you may need to stick with the original style starter...

    1999 Dakota computer question

I'd read that on 1998 and newer trucks, that the vin in each of the onboard computers needs to match, or the truck might not start, idle rough, and set the 'check engine' light. Is the VIN just needed for this check during startup? Does it just need to match the others, or does it need to be a...

    1999 Dakota computer question

I'd like to replace the worn out V6 in my Dakota with a 5.9. The one stumbling block is the computer. I can buy a reman unit that's programmed with the correct calibration, it just needs the VIN and milage flashed into it. If I have it programmed with my stock V6 VIN, will that work?

Anyone used a V6 Magnum in an A-body?

Dakotas are heavy. Mopar Action weighed their 92 2wd, std cab, short box at 4100lbs. That's as light as they get. If you could shave 800-1000lbs off that weight, wouldn't you get better milage, and feel like you had more power? The OP did say "daily driver", right?

    moparts= arrogant

There are so many worse messageboards than Moparts. A couple of years ago, I was looking for some Jeep info, so I joined a Jeep board. I asked some technical questions about a bad fuel gauge. I got nothing but bad responses: "don't bother us new guy, use the search" , "mine doesn't work...

    what is with ebay

I haven't bought much from ebay in the last few years. It was a lot better when it was people, rather than companies selling their stuff. The generic cut&paste auctions just kill me. I was looking for Jeep seatcovers, and there were hundreds of ads all from the same store. All with the same...
