Holler Sniper EFI & Hyperspark Starting Issues- Worth the read.

That’s a good point 67Dart273. I need to make sure wires are away from coil, plug wires, etc., especially that pink wire now that I think of it. As far as the fuel pump, yes theres a relay within the harness that I assume controls it but I’m not certain.

Thanks DionR. No, haven’t replaced the sensor yet. I never thought the ECM, hmmm could be. I wonder if a guy can test them?

Holler Sniper EFI & Hyperspark Starting Issues- Worth the read.

So, I remove my Quickfuel 880cfm and Mopar electronic distributor and coil from my 69 Barracuda with mild 440 and install the Sniper 4140 EFI and Hyperspark Ignition (Distributor, Coil, Ignition Box, harness) system. Of course, there is no easy switched power so run the pink wire through the...

    Holley sniper

Excellent, much appreciated. Now, do you see any issues with using the relay with the "diode" in it, the way its wired in the picture? Or, should i just go with regular ol' relay? Thanks.

Appreciate the reply KitCarlson. Forgive my ignorance, but in the pic are these IGN1 and IGN2?

Well, I did as Holley said and grabbed a 5 pin relay with diode built in. I wired it as they said but of course coming from the starter solenoid the screen and fuel pump turned on but cut out immediately during cranking and wouldn't start. I saw another post on a different thread where one said...

    Holley sniper

I just installed the Sniper 4150 and Hyperspark Ignition in my 69 Barracuda with 440. All went well except for the dreaded 12volt switched source that is required. I have 6 fuses in the fuse box and none that have 12 volts while on and cranking, and off when the key is off. If I use my third arm...

    Fluttering Voltage, Backfire, Engine Quits

Thanks 67Dart273 for your quick reply, as well as your suggestion KitCarlson. I did just that and started going over major connection points, starting with the battery, then bulkhead connector. Then got thinking about that rattling alternator, so checked it and sure enough........a wire, i think...

    Fluttering Voltage, Backfire, Engine Quits

Hello. Running original wiring in restored 69 Cuda. Have the usual issues as with any other Mopar I've owned ie: dim lights, slow signal lights with headlights on, voltage shows low at idle, etc, etc. But.....the other day out for a cruise and all of a sudden my voltage gauge tach's hard to the...

    Rally Dash....Module???

Thanks all, much appreciated. I will do the grounding process while I have it out too.

    Rally Dash....Module???

I have searched high and low as I know I saw a thread on this somewhere, but will be damned if I can find it when I need it. The thread stating that this wire may be on the wrong post. When I saw it I ran out to the ol' garage to check mine (69 Barracuda) as I had the cluster out, and sure...

    Mechanical Voltage Regulator to Electronic???

Did some trouble shooting last weekend and found that it was in fact charging.......Once i learned how to run a volt meter. My 42 year old volts gauge is a little sticky and could have been part of the problem. My 2 FLD alternator was fine and with the hook up the same as the "electronic"...

    Mechanical Voltage Regulator to Electronic???

Thanks all. I will trouble shoot this weekend, and report back. This image, you can see the green going directly to the alternator. The solid blue, to the ballast resistor and the blue with white (which you cant see in the picture), to the ignition. I'm certain its to the ignition as the engine...

    Mechanical Voltage Regulator to Electronic???

Hmmm, stumped. I went for a rip and find that it still isnt charging very well. The gauge is on the discharge side of the line, lights are dim and I needed to throw the charger on it once i got back home. Could it be the alternator? Its a new one and dont think its rebuilt, but will yank it out...

    Mechanical Voltage Regulator to Electronic???

Thanks all. Much appreciated. I tried to find the VR706 but had to order it, so went with the newer style in 70Duster440's picture. I'm still unsure of the solid blue wire, but assumes it routes back to the ballast resistor like in the picture. So....... regulator green to FLD alternator green...

    Mechanical Voltage Regulator to Electronic???

Hoping someone can help and did my best to search through some great threads but couldnt find the question i have here. I am going to the electronic voltage regulator over the mechanical. From the pics you see here, i have two blue (one with white) wires going into the ignition side of the mech...
