Have an Alterkation front end with disk brakes. New drums in the rear. Engine is a 572 (440) dual quads, making 700+ HP at the crank. Just drove the rig a few time, so the front pads are probably still beding in. Haven't really ran it up to highway speed and tried to brake hard. Noticed...

Got the rear brakes on and bled. So, Sunday, I after 4 years, I can finally let this angry rig loose. I've had the 572 started. Now it's time to shred some tires. Thanks for all the help.

Have a 1970 "B" body 8 3/4, in my Dart. I want to order new wheel cylinders, brake shoes, and a complete hardware kit. How do I figure out what size brakes I have (10",11")? Also are 2 1/2 shoes correct? Am also confused about the wheel cylinders, as far as bore size? Thanks

Brakes are in and working great. Now I only have to have the front end aligned and this angry rig will be on the road. Thanks for all the info.

Yes. The caliper is a 1978-88 GM. Calipers and pads came with my AlterK system. Fit on Mustang ll rotors and spindles.

I know this is an old thread, but I just went through this. Knowing I didn't want to go through it again, I drilled and tapped the drum, to take a 3/8-16 bolt, in two places. That way if I have this problem again, I can use the bolts to help loosen the drum, by screwing them into the axle bracket.

This is a kit I got to mount with the Alter-K installation. And yes, they are GM calipers. Have to wait on the pix. Grand daughter borrowed my cam. Thanks

Well, I was in he process of removing the front to back line and discovered a hold off valve, in the line. Doesn't make sense. Now, I have to send the one piece line back and order a two piece. I'm going to go ahead and order a new hold off, while I'm at it. Might as well have all new...

Just about ready to replace all the brake lines, on my 72 Swinger. Was 4 wheel drum. Now rear drum and front disk. Am wondering if I need to install a hold off valve? And where it would be mounted. Thanks

Forgot to mention that my 72 Dart was a four drum rig. After I install the Alter-K it will be front disks and rear drums.

For two days now, I've read MANY threads on the Distribution Blocks. And I've ended up more confused, than before. On the inlinetube page for the block, I see, on the left, what appears to be the correct block, for my 72 Dart. Yet, it shows and says,(and or) two other blocks. It's like they are...

Well, I screwed up. Trying to get the flex hose off the brake line, from the front, the whole thing spapped. Breaking the front to rear line at the hanger, that bolts to the frame. So, it looks like I will need a front to back brake line. The bracket and a new flex hose. Man! it's fun working...

But, I need the line for a 70 B-body, so it has the correct fitting. Tried looking on the NAPA site, but all I can find are hoses, with no blocks.

Can I remove the fitting from the hose, in the picture? It has the A-body block and I need to hook the hose to the block on the 8 3/4. in the pic.

Have a 72 Swinger with a 70 B-body 8 3/4, in it. I'm looking for the flex hose that connects to the rear end lines. Have no idea as to what either are called. See below. I need one from a B-body, as As & Bs have diff fittings. (And yes, I have this on FBO, also. Any ideas where I might find...

Just checked Autozone and they show two kinds. An inner and an outer. There was just a slight diff in the two. Ooops, ya treed me.
