Tilton 6000 HRB on an A833?

When we did the A833 conversion on our Dart (used to be a 727) we had to make our own anti-rotation stud from a grade 8 bolt because the ones from AP were too short. Works great:

Tilton 6000 HRB on an A833?

Actually, for whatever reason, the bearing stopped leaking....... Maybe some grit on the piston seal or something. So we're still running it. Anyone else have experience with the Tilton unit?

A833 Front Bearing Retainer Bolt Circle Diameter?

Looked at Brewer's, they have lots of good info, but that measurement wasn't one of them. FWIW, I have the 4.354" diameter bearing retainer. Anyone know what the bolt circle diameter is..? Trying to see if a Tilton 6000 series hydraulic throwout bearing will fit.

Tilton 6000 HRB on an A833?

Anyone running the Tilton 6000 series hydraulic release bearing on their A833? My son has been using the American Powertrain Hydramax bearing on his A833 for 2 years and it has started to leak. Since the trans has to come out anyway, we were considering switching to the Tilton 6000 series...

    4-Speed Conversion Of My Son's '68 Dart

Success..!! Took the Dart out for a test drive, and everything seems to work fine. Clutch take-up is quick but controllable, and the trans shifts well. May have to increase the reinforcement of the firewall where the clutch master is installed, we'll see. Speedo isn't working, so we'll check...

    4-Speed Conversion Of My Son's '68 Dart

Got the fabricated anti-rotation post installed today. Works fine. Clutch release is adjusted, and the steering column has been re-installed. Put the battery back in and checked all the electrics, which are fine. Still need to install the interior and then we'll fire it up and see how...

    4-Speed Conversion Of My Son's '68 Dart

Hit a little stumbling block today. While setting the clutch release travel, we found that at full extension, the throwout bearing rides off the top of the anti-rotation post. So we unbolted the trans and backed it out about an inch so we could remove the anti-rotation post. We will have to...

    4-Speed Conversion Of My Son's '68 Dart

Had to do some modification of the shift rods to make them fit around the torsion bar crossmember, but they fit well now and the shifter goes through the gears smoothly. Still need to weld in the shifter hump and fill/bleed the clutch hydraulics and set the stop on the master.

    4-Speed Conversion Of My Son's '68 Dart

The old 727 came out without a hitch. Fabrication of spacers and reinforcement for the hydraulic master cylinder was a major hassle. We also modified the clutch pedal due to the offset required to fit the clutch master. We installed a Ram flywheel and Centerforce dual-friction clutch. The...

American Powertrain Hydraulic Throwout Bearing Kit Questions

We have purchased an American Powertrain hydraulic throwout bearing kit to install when we convert my son's '68 Dart from 727 auto to 833 4-speed. Anyone have any pictures of this kit installed ? How far down on the clutch pedal should we mount the master cylinder ? I've seen other threads...

    Better Shifting Mopars

This is the tag on the 833 we just bought from Passion. There's also a warranty sheet that says the warranty is void if you use anything else (like ATF...). Since I like warranties, guess that's what I'll be using....
