Did you check to see if the Jaguar fan clutch would fit? It's shorter than the Mopar spec clutch. I believe it's Hayden P/N 2765.

You could have the outlet switched. You could also swap the water pump & fan setup from your 273 over to the 360. You would also have to switch alternator brackets & pulleys. This might be the easiest way since you also have the AC to deal with. Biggest problem is that your 360 will have to...

This is what I was thinking. Might try looking for a different set of pulleys. I think the AC cars used water pumps with more blades on the impellers but also used a larger pump pulley to slow the pump down a bit.

If the clutch is plugged in & doesn't engage then do like Mr Hemi said & bypass the low pressure cut out switch. Not sure where it would be but it's going to be in a low side line somewhere. Just follow the lines & look for the wires.

Turn on the AC & see if the compressor clutch engages when the engine is running. If it doesn't, follow the wire from the clutch back to the plug & see if it's plugged in. If not, that's probably the problem. Should be easy to find the wire it plugs into nearby. Hey, at least your car LOOKS...

Don't know if the heater control valve is controled by vacuum on your car but, but if it is, you might have hooked up a vacuum hose wrong or left one disconnected when you swapped the intake & carb.

Might just be some crud in there. You could try poking a piece of wire inside. Probably needs to be something flexible because it kind of needs to turn a corner. You might want to go to a NAPA store or someplace & look at a replacement petcock (that's what they're called) to see how it works...

My '64 had the underdash AC too. I think these were only available as a dealer installed item. '65 was the first year that AC was available integrated into the heater box with the in-dash controls in an A Body.

I think 65 was the was the first year for factory AC on the A Bodies so that might have something to do with the difference (if there really is one) in the heater cores.

Slant six fans aren't aligned with the crank. They're offset towards the driver's side of the car.

I heard back from these guys. They list 4 pumps in the early smallblock configuration, 2 part numbers & then the same 2 part numbers, each followed by the letter P. I asked what the differences were in the pumps. They said they didn't keep stock of one of the part numbers so they couldn't...

I think it's just a hose nipple. Pretty sure there's 2 different sizes depending on the year of the car, maybe '69 & earlier and '70 & later?

It would probably help if you could post a picture or two of the front of the motor. I'm having a bit of trouble understanding what you're describing. I would think that the worst thing that you'd need to do would be maybe change the intake manifold.

If you add a coolant recovery tank make sure you use a radiator cap that's designed for use with a tank. They have a rubber gasket under the cap as well as one where they seal in the radiator neck. I don't know, maybe all the new caps are like this now?

The clutch won't work with the stock fan. You need a fan designed to bolt to the clutch. There are universal ones available or you could find one in a salvage yard. Just make sure the diameter & direction of rotation are correct for the car. You also need to use a short clutch on the early A...

This is going from memory many years back. On my early A the drains were a sort of slot at the bottom of the fender behind the wheel opening. Taking off the fender should help get a bunch of crud out of there. You might just try shoving a wire up there to break stuff loose. Or maybe loosen...

hkeller, which radiator did you order? I see that you have an aluminum water pump on your car so the outlet must have been moved. I am planning to do something very similar to what you've done.
