    Electric fan?

Did you check to see if the Jaguar fan clutch would fit? It's shorter than the Mopar spec clutch. I believe it's Hayden P/N 2765.

    273 to 360 engine swap

Commando66, can you post a pic showing how easy/hard it is to see the timing marks? I need to make a decision about a balancer myself. There's a lot better selection of performance balancers in the later style.

    273 to 360 engine swap

You could have the outlet switched. You could also swap the water pump & fan setup from your 273 over to the 360. You would also have to switch alternator brackets & pulleys. This might be the easiest way since you also have the AC to deal with. Biggest problem is that your 360 will have to...

Mechanical Cooling Fan broke during 6000 rpm burnout.

This is what I was thinking. Might try looking for a different set of pulleys. I think the AC cars used water pumps with more blades on the impellers but also used a larger pump pulley to slow the pump down a bit.

    19" to 22" Radiator Swap

'64 models are a bit more involved than the later cars. I have 2 '64 cars here, both came with V8's, & they have 2 different sized radiator openings, neither of which is as wide as the opening on the '65 & later cars. The biggest problem is that the core support is offset toward the front just...

    AC Blows Hot Only

If the clutch is plugged in & doesn't engage then do like Mr Hemi said & bypass the low pressure cut out switch. Not sure where it would be but it's going to be in a low side line somewhere. Just follow the lines & look for the wires.

Nippodenso A/C compressor install on 440

Uh.....is the A body inside of the motor home? Seriously though, has anybody done a low mount installation of a late model compressor on a small block? Any pictures?

    AC Blows Hot Only

Turn on the AC & see if the compressor clutch engages when the engine is running. If it doesn't, follow the wire from the clutch back to the plug & see if it's plugged in. If not, that's probably the problem. Should be easy to find the wire it plugs into nearby. Hey, at least your car LOOKS...

    AC Blows Hot Only

Don't know if the heater control valve is controled by vacuum on your car but, but if it is, you might have hooked up a vacuum hose wrong or left one disconnected when you swapped the intake & carb.

    65 cuda 318 radiator question

Might just be some crud in there. You could try poking a piece of wire inside. Probably needs to be something flexible because it kind of needs to turn a corner. You might want to go to a NAPA store or someplace & look at a replacement petcock (that's what they're called) to see how it works...

    Heater Box Question??

I think you need the fresh air to help prevent fogging of the windows.

Which fan clutch should I run???

I would get the thermal or the heavy duty thermal. Forget the non-thermal.

Blowing out freeze out plug after start up

The 273 is just like all of the other LA smallblocks. Maybe a Magnum head gasket was used & blocked a water passage to the head? Just a wild guess as I know there are some differences there but I would think the wrong gasket would also block an oil passage & starve the top end for oil so I...

    1965 Heater Core in 63-64 A-Bodies?

My '64 had the underdash AC too. I think these were only available as a dealer installed item. '65 was the first year that AC was available integrated into the heater box with the in-dash controls in an A Body.

    1965 Heater Core in 63-64 A-Bodies?

I think 65 was the was the first year for factory AC on the A Bodies so that might have something to do with the difference (if there really is one) in the heater cores.

    Water Pump Warehouse?

If I want to go to NAPA I have to go out of town. Unfortunately, the counter guy at my local NAPA belongs in this thread. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=126669 :angry7:

    Water Pump Warehouse?

Usually don't have a problem with acrobat files but certainly had a problem with that site tonight. Will give it a try again tomorrow. Sometimes the weather causes my ISP some problems & we've certainly had some weather here in the last few days.

    Water Pump Warehouse?

I had to give up on the catalog link. Every time I tried it my Internet Explored program locked up & I had to open the task manager to shut it down. Probably happened about 8 times. Maybe tomorrow? :dontknow:

    Water Pump Warehouse?

Like I said, it's probably typical hype. But I like the idea of the plate on back of the impeller and the closer tolerances can only help things. Years ago I had trouble keeping my high strung 273 cool. I know a lot more than I used to about how to make the cooling system work more...

    Water Pump Warehouse?

I heard back from these guys. They list 4 pumps in the early smallblock configuration, 2 part numbers & then the same 2 part numbers, each followed by the letter P. I asked what the differences were in the pumps. They said they didn't keep stock of one of the part numbers so they couldn't...

    Water Pump Warehouse?

Anybody ever heard of or done any business with these guys? I was just searching for a water pump & came across them. They have a few pumps listed for small blocks & I was wondering if anyone had ever used their stuff. Their prices were reasonable...

part needed or just the size and description water pump

I think it's just a hose nipple. Pretty sure there's 2 different sizes depending on the year of the car, maybe '69 & earlier and '70 & later?

I need a little help here?

It would probably help if you could post a picture or two of the front of the motor. I'm having a bit of trouble understanding what you're describing. I would think that the worst thing that you'd need to do would be maybe change the intake manifold.

Is it normal for a car with no overflow to dump a bit of antifreeze after a day

If you add a coolant recovery tank make sure you use a radiator cap that's designed for use with a tank. They have a rubber gasket under the cap as well as one where they seal in the radiator neck. I don't know, maybe all the new caps are like this now?

    273 fan clutch

The clutch won't work with the stock fan. You need a fan designed to bolt to the clutch. There are universal ones available or you could find one in a salvage yard. Just make sure the diameter & direction of rotation are correct for the car. You also need to use a short clutch on the early A...

    Leaking Heater Core...

This is going from memory many years back. On my early A the drains were a sort of slot at the bottom of the fender behind the wheel opening. Taking off the fender should help get a bunch of crud out of there. You might just try shoving a wire up there to break stuff loose. Or maybe loosen...

    Radiator costs

hkeller, which radiator did you order? I see that you have an aluminum water pump on your car so the outlet must have been moved. I am planning to do something very similar to what you've done.
