Don't know if it restricts flow but it was a stock item on these engines from Mopar for many years. I'm not sure you can even run a filter in the early A body without using the adapter. Maybe with the short filter, I've never tried it.

I think that was 15%. At least that's the discount I used in December when I ordered my stroker kit. If there was a 20% discount floating around I wish I'd known about it.

A '64 is basically the same under the hood as a '65 or a '66. Not sure that goes for a '63 & earlier car though.

I talked to TTI on the phone once & they told me that their 2 1/2" & 3" kits for the early A's would work with offset spring hangers, but I kinda' wonder how close things would be.

Some people have managed to fit stock Durango exhaust manifolds in the early A body engine compartment. Use the search function & you should find some info. If you have power steering it might be a problem.

Haven't used them but if I decide to re-use my old fenderwell headers I'm probably going to try them.

Doug's D450 will fit your car with power steering. Not cheap, but they say they will fit.

I think they refer to using the 273 manifolds as trying to poop through a soda straw, but I seem to remember that even putting duals with glasspacks on my 273 with the stock manifolds really woke it up. Might have just been the noise though. :thumblef:

I remember reading an old hot rodders trick was to run 5 cylinders through one pipe & one cylinder through another single pipe. It was said to make the car sound like a "Stuka Dive-Bomber." Sounds worth a try! :-D

Back in the day you could buy something similar that was painted purple. They were called Purple Hornies. They came with stickers to put on your car that said "I've Got The Purple Hornies!" I can only remember one person that actually ran a pair of them. I think he had a Nova. :-D

I have a copy of a magazine review of a new (at the time) 1965 Formula S Barracuda. The last thing they said in the article was something like "Hell, we'd buy it for the exhaust note alone!"

When I put fenderwell headers on my car in the 1970's I tried several body shops trying to find somebody that would cut the inner fenders. None would do it, saying it would weaken the body. With the things I put my car through after cutting the holes for the headers I wouldn't worry at all...

Big problem with eBay is that you have to file a complaint within 60 days. By the time you figure out that you've really been screwed it could be too late. Then, all eBay will do is say that they take this seriously, blah, blah, blah, & they do nothing. Ask me how I know.
