    413 motorhome/truck/industrial motor "chat"

I have a 71 413 in my garage that I took apart, it looks great inside. I plan on putting 906 heads different cam and some factory flat top pistons from a older 413. I have to get a w200 to put it in too.

The 70 pistons are made In Canada, the 77 are Dodge factory pistons. It also looks like one of the 70 pistons has .030 on the top of it.

    318 Difference?

I have a 1970 and a 1977 318, I am going to rebuild one of them and put in my 76 W100. Witch one should I rebuild? The 70 is a higher compression motor than the 77? Right? The 70 crank is not in good shape, the 77 is in good shape, will the 77 crank work in the 70 motor? The 77 has factory...

Tinny sound from front of crank area

When I put a double row timing chain on my 76 W100 I had a ticking noise. It was the fuel pump arm hitting the chain, just a little. I bent the fuel pump arm in with a C clamp just a little where it was hitting and no more noise.

    Timing Gear/Chain Replacement

Good idea, I just replaced my chain with a double roller chain. I did not soak it in oil and when I started my truck, the chain was ticking for a couple of minutes. I did not like the way that sounded, it went away slowly. I will soak my chain next time.
