OEM parts fit better. I would take a good used panel over any reproduction every time. NOS is even better.

They shouldn't be that hard to find. The hood off of a 73+ Dart is the same. Find a 73 Dart 4 door that's being parted and there is your hood.

No, the hood is not a direct bolt on. If you are asking about the inserts, they are also not a bolt on for a 69 hood. A 67-69 hood will bolt on a 69 but the body lines between the hood and header panel will be way off. If you want a 67-68 hood on a 69, you also need to replace the header...

Amazing what you can do with some Krylon Dull Aluminum, Krylon Semi-Gloss Black, Dupli-Color Graphite wheel paint and some tape. Still look the same 4+ years later. Not bad for about $20 in materials.

They were an option, just like any other option on a 68 Barracuda. They were put on all cars that were ordered with them. Slant 6, V8, Formula S, it didn't matter.

Fun Fact: This was a $17.60 option. Adjusted for inflation that option would be $109.06 today.

A little off topic but...... This reminds me of a friend of mine that bought some roof rail moldings for his Chevelle. They were nice and straight in the pics when advertised..... But the seller folded them up to fit in a small box for shipping. LOL
